What can you do for such a young baby that's teething? I don't want to medicate him but he's still not completely coordinated so I'm worried he'll just bash his head with one of those icey teething rings. It seems to be bothering him... His oral fixation has gotten so much worse- I have a bruise on my arm from where he got me and our shoulders are always slobbered.

He won't bash his head with those cold things as he probably won't be able to hold it so you will have to

Anything I have he grabs and then can't let go of. I let him hold some of the soft toys from a playmat by the plastic ring and within seconds he's hitting his head/face. He hangs onto one of those comforters and it goes straight into his mouth, so if there is anything relatively safe for him to hang onto, that would be ideal.

Not that I can think of :( We have the rings that go in the fridge but Finlay has never hit himself with it. Only his hard toys

Oh Tommee Tippee do teething things that look like dummies - they chew on the bit that goes in their mouth. Boots do them I think and Tesco. We had them but didn't use them. I wouldn't think he could hit himself with that if you put it in his mouth.

mam do a teething ring that can be bought from boots. Are what about plastic teething beads (not to be confused with a teething necklace). Also, you can get homeopathic teething tablets from holland and barrett which dissolve in the mouth. Or what about a blankie or something and put it in the freezer for 10 mins so he can give it a wee chew.

Thats me, Im done.

Hmm good idea. I think I'll try freezing one of his wipes tonight (washable, unused) and if that doesn't work I'll look for the dummy type thing or beads tomorrow. I think he'd like the dummy thing.

Oh god Finlay has beads too  From Tesco. They cost about £3. I'm sure you could put them in the freezer too

I forgot about these  He plays with them more than he uses them for his teeth

DD had a teething ring they are quite light and easy to hold.

Im sure i read somewhere that babies learn to hold things but they don't know how to let go

I read that and it seems true because when he does let go, it goes *flying* so it seems like a mistake.

Try these hun, we have been using them with Eden and she bites away to her hearts content! Just like using a dummy so LO doesnt have to hold them and no drugs involved! x

I use dentinox teething gel for some quick relief but most of the time she is happy munching on her hands.
