Just a wee question if anyone can help.
Since I had my baby in August I am entitled to tax credits based on my earnings last year, as this is what they asked for when filling in the form. Thing is my pay will be a lot less next year due to being on Mat leave. So does this make a difference? I tried to phone tax credit people but was on hold for ages x

Yes it will make a difference! The only reason they ask for last year is because they think most people won't know what they will earn in the current year! If u can work out what u will earn april12-april13 then tell them that! And also for as many weeks u will be on mat leave/pay u take off £100 off ur estimated earnings! So if ur on mat leave for 12 weeks in this tax year u take off £1200!

Thanks!

Yes that's what they said, I can get my October payslip, then add 23 weeks at statutory mat pay, then - £3,200 and give them that figure and re calculate my claim.xxx
