Can I claim help from Tax Credits for putting Josh into Holiday Club over the school holidays??

He's off for 2 weeks and I booked him into the Holiday Club for 4 days at a cost of £96.

I assumed Tax Credits would help me a bit cos I had to put Josh in there so that I could still work while he's off school, but they told me they don't help with costs unless the change of circumstances lasts for at least 4 weeks... he's only off school bloody 2 weeks so it obviously ain't gonna last longer than that :wall:

Now I'm stuck with an extra £96 childcare fees to pay :?

As far as i know for childcare they take a weekly average of what you will be paying in the year.

So take into account any time he may be in care during summer christmas october hols , easter if itlands before april 5th 09. Also any in service or public hoidays you need care for.

Add up all this divide by 52 and call tax credits to tell them your weekly average.

This is paid over the course of the year so no lump sum payment.
