Hey stranger.. are you still off sick at home on the sofa?

Hope you are feeling better and you and LO are enjoying your quality time together.. is he kicking you to bits ??

xx

i was just thinking about Tankett - haven't seen her in here for a few days...

Cat was asking about her in another forum (picklesworld) so i joined up and updated her on us all.... she can't come on here for some reason... need to log back in and see if she got her message...

how are you anyway? haven't had much time to chat to you lately...

Tanketts in Ibiza on her happy holidays. She went on Friday morning!!

Lucky devil!!

OOOOh yes of course.. lucky her!!!!! As I look out of my window and see the rain pi**ing down I am suddenly very very jealous !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hayley I am fine thanks.. apart from a sodding back ache that I cannot get rid of!! I am loving the little kicks and nudges that LO gives me and last night OH heard heartbeat by putting his head on my bump!! He was over the moon   .. didn't need to use the doppler!!!!

How are things with you? Work back to normal now - not long for you before you go on mat leave .. are you counting down the days???? I still haven't decided when to finish work... my consultant last week told me I should finish very soon [he is old school and thinks that the third tri is for resting at home] he said "there is a reason maternity leave can start at such an early stage.. women should take it then" !! I wish I could afford to!!

Sam how are you? still studying hard? exams soon????

I am definitely enjoying this stage.. feeling better and all the little movements and having a proper bump.. I actually feel pregnant and happy.. not as anxious as I was.. for now at least!! xxxx

I forgot about her holiday to Ibiza... lucky cow! being able to strip off.. i love walking around the house in just my underwear and not having clothes digging in... not a pretty sight but i like it... bet she comes back with a lovely tan...

sorry to hear your back is playing up.. is there nothing you can take or do to ease it.. back ache is one of those pains that gets you down quickly... glad your feeling a lot more relaxed about your pregnancy! have you started baby shopping now? the kicks are the best part... i think mine was playing with my organs last nite... i was being prodded and kicked for hours... i started to feel a little sea sick with all the movements... gonna miss this part thou when baby is here.

I'm planning to finish work 3 weeks beore due date.. taking 3 weeks holidays then start maternity leave on actual due date... i'm off today with thrush.. second time in 7 weeks... so anoying! its the itching that makes it unbearable... using canestan to clear it up and yogurt for the itching.. didn't think the office would appreciate me sitting there all day smelling of warm yogurt!!! so i took the day off... the only other pregnancy symptom i've been getting is swollen ankles, feet, wrists and fingers... last nite my toes looked like they'd been stuck on... I had crease lines around my ankles... Had my anti natal last tue and the Midwife didn't seem to think it was anything to worry about!

Sam how are you gettig on with your pregnancy?

I'm ok thanks, a bit busy on the old college front, getting last minute essays in etc. I've got a maths exam tomorrow at 10...boo!
Thankfully though this is my only exam, the rest of the courses are course work based.
Only got 7 weeks left!! Hurrah!
I should hear if I've got into Uni within the next couple of weeks, fingers crossed!

Glad to hear your enjoying your pregnancy now, apart from the backache :( it's a bitch isn't it?!
It's nice to have a proper bump isn't it? I love rubbing mine. I must remember to take a bloody picture! At this rate I'm not going to have any and I wanted a little collection to see how much I've grown.

I'm a bit fed up to be honest...spd playing up, and last night I noticed I had swollen feet and ankles.....lovely!
Saying that though, I wouldn't change it for the world...I just can't wait for her to be here!
I'm thinking she may be an only child though, pregnancy has not been my friend so far!

How are you doing? Got everything ready yet? Only 12 ish weeks left for you.....I've a feeling it's going to fly by!! :D

God knows hw I did that!!! Hope you can understand....my answer to Hayley is in the bottom 'quote' box.

Pregnancy brain strikes again!!

i understood sam - think all pregnancy brains think a like...

i'm the same as you! wont be trying for a second baby... we said all along that we'd only have the one - with DH being older than me - it wasn't fair on him to want baby after baby... as he keeps pointing out to me - he'll be 100 when he retires!!! but after this pregnancy i dn't think i'd be trying for another anyway!!! haven't had a bad time - so shouldn't moan.. just that being pregnant wasn't what i expected...

Good luck with your exam tomorrow. What are you studying anyway? is it you want to do at uni? I studies for 5 years - i loved it...worked part time - studies full time and still had lots of time to myself and money every weekend.. don't know how! I'm now earning 4 times more but seem to be skint all the time... getting your own place has a lt to answer for...

Hi Hayley, just back from my maths exam - got 38/40 so I passed!! It was an on-line test so you find out straight away.

At the moment , at college, I'm doing access to primary school teaching ( level 3), access to english (level 3- similar to A level) maths and science, both at gcse level as I didn't get these at school!

At Uni , this Sept, I'm doing a 4 year part-time primary teaching degree.
Was going to do the 3 year full-time but as the baby is due around that time, I decided it wasn't fair....and it's only an extra year so it's no big deal really.

I just wish I'd have done it all when I left school, when I had no commitments.....now we have a baby on the way, a mortgage, bills, car, etc.

EEEKKKK!!!!

Well done Sam on the maths test.. god I hated maths at school!!!
So impressed that you want to be a teacher.. I really wish I had gone into teaching... my mum was a teacher for 14 years [high school age] and I would love to teach primary but I think I am just too old to start training for another career :( :(

Don't worry about all the responsibilities you are taking on.. you will both manage somehow.. everyone has to find a way... I too am scared sh*tless about it all.. being a parent and skint!!!!!

Sam I wonder if you will still feel that you only want one child a few years from now .... will be curious to see if you change your mind!!
Hayley I understand about your OH not wanting to be too old with toddlers running around as he already has grown up children too.. I have no idea whether or not i will want any more.. now I am 37 i may be running out of time so I think it will depend on how this birth goes and if it hasn't put me off I may consider it again but I have told OH not to get hopes up in case I just don't want to!! With my history I feel it has taken so much out of me to get this far and even though the physical side of pregnancy itself so far has been ok the mental torture and anxiety I have felt has given me more grey hairs and wrinkles so not sure I want to go through all that anquish of trying etc all over again!

I am with you about pregnancy not being what I expected. I have to say these last few weeks have been great except the back aches but yes the first trimester was just hideous and I have a sneaky feeling the 3rd tri will be a bit gruelling too... so I agree.. preg is not glam or fun !!
