Well now Baby Roo is at 23 weeks ,I thought it would be nice if Hubby had a little chat with Roo to try and get baby used to Daddy's voice.
One problem.. my OH says it feels too strange to talk to the bump :( , I talk to LO all the time and granted he does say Hello to it occasionally but I think he needs to talk a bit more to get a bond. I asked him if he did feel an attachment to LO and he said he did,but I'm concerned he just said it so not to worry me. I don't know if he's worried about being a Dad and that's what has put a barrier up , Is there any ideas you ladies have got to make him feel more at ease about talking to baby ?

My DH wont talk to the baby either, he's always kissing my bump and asking if baby is kicking etc but he wont actually 'talk', I'm not too worried as baby hears his voice when he's at home and we're chatting etc.

I can understand it's weird to talk to the bump, last night I was lying on my bed on my own and thought I should talk or sing to my bump and didn't bother because I felt a bit stupid.
Maybe if I learn some child friendly songs I'll be able to do it!
And that was with me on my own, I bet guys feel like idiots talking to our stomachs with us there watching like  - talk!

Consider yourself lucky, my OH wouldnt even touch my bump let alone feel it kicking or talk to it.

All it will be is that OH is too embarrassed and wont know what to say. I dont really know what to chat about to my bump so I'm pretty sure my DH will feel equally silly when he does it (he hasnt done it yet because he's been overseas for a few weeks but he's back at weekend :cheer: )
I wouldnt worry about it, some people just feel a bit daft talking to a bump but baby hears when you two are chatting so will get to know the voices anyway

Baby was moving this morning so I thought I would try talking to her. I got as far as "are you awake little baby" I didn't really know what to say. I can't keep OH away from my bump he wants to touch it all the time and I'm sure baby already knows the difference between Mummy and Daddy because she kicks his hand all the time and pokes him back!

My OH is great, he rubs my stomach every night with oil, we can now feel arms and legs. He also talks to the baby and reads it a story.

whilst I was pregnant with Molly, my eldest, we bought Sammy Star. He's the star on my avatar, and he plays a little tune. I used to put it on my tummy and play the music. From the moment Molly was born and right up to this very day, that toy has comforted her. It's her most treasured posession, and I daren't let her take it out of the house these days! It's so lovely to know that something we did for her when she was still in the womb has had such long reaching effects..........

I play the music on the cot mobile while i go to sleep. I'm hoping she'll remember and go to sleep with it after she's born.

She definitly likes music... i work in a night club part time and when theres house music on she kickes like mad. (She doesnt like R&B tho!)

my OH touches my belly everyday and has a habit of touching my belly button of course he gets told off  sometimes baby kicks for him most times i gotta say when babys active. baby was active last night and this morning :D
he shakes my belly gently from side to side saying baby wake up, baby wake up

i bought laa laa yesterday :D

same here, they seem to play games with each other

i dont speak to the bump because I just wouldnt know what to say. my OH recorded some music a while ago that he was singing on, and I played that to the bump to start with just in case he didn't want to talk to it it would still know the voice..
