Just wondered how long it was before you ladies heard anything back from your application?

do they send u a letter to tell you that there processing it or something?


how long was it before the money went in the bank??

I posted mine on one friday and by the next friday the money was in my bank. I got the letter a few days later

How do you qualify for the Maternity grant?

You can get the form from your jobcentre. It depends on your financial circumstances. I was working but because of my level of tax/child credits I was eligible. I wasnt the first time I got pg but I might have been able to claim it after the birth but no one told me.

The only reason I realised I was entitled was because of this forum.

Just ask hun, all you can do is apply but I think its after 30 weeks.

it usually takes about a week to come through, and you can claim it from 29 weeks pregnant till upto 3 months after the babys born

i sent my form off last monday and the money was in the bank on the friday. we qualified because we are recieving child tax credit at a rate higher than the family element which is about 540 a year.

it took a week.. then money was in the bank. you get a letter saying how much u will get (max being 500quid)

If you have more than £500 in savings the payment will be reduced. For every £1 of savings over £500, £1 will be deducted.
