I have been bf M now for 7 months and am loving it i really dont want to give up anytime soon but im really worried about how low my milk supply is atm. Yesterday i had food poisoning so didnt feed M for the day i didnt get full atall and she was happy having bottles apart from in the evening. So today i have been feeding her myyself but she was just crying etc so i gave her a bottle and she drained 6 oz and was back to being her normal happy self surely one day of not feeding could have affected my supply this much. Im going to eat as much oats as i can once i can stomach food again and i've ordered some Fenugreek tablets any other suggestions. I dont want to give up bf yet xx

Can't really help hun but just wanted to say that I went from expressing 6oz every couple of hours to giving up completely and my boobs never got full so maybe they don't get full to bursting once you get this far?? Lizzie was 6 months when I quit :)

I've been BFing oscar for 8 months and my boobs never get 'full' anymore. He has 3 feeds a day, sometimes the one at lunch time is hardly anything but my supply is fine. I wouldn't worry too much. I can never get anything out when expressing but Oscar has always gained weight, never lost since the very first week after birth. Baby can always get that milk out. I could only ever get about 2oz p/boob and that was when I used to get engorged too!

If you are really worried maybe speak to BF advisor in your area?

Sorry can't be more help.

I never feel full anymore either, your supply might have dropped off slightly just because you have been unwell, if she's been sucking today that would be telling your body to make more, make sure you keep your fluids up and keep offering boob so her suckling picks your supply up.

I'm never full either. But she seems happy enough! Xx

Shes had boob almost every hour today and i've been expressing when i've had to top her up with formula hopefully it'll pick up again xx

Since you want to continue breastfeeding I'd like to tell you what I did when I had the same problem.I started taking a supplement called Lactaboost that a friend of mine had tried and I was really amazed to see my milk supply increase naturally.
My baby also started feeling better and sleeping better. I used to visit my peadiatrician about indigestion problems. But after taking this remedy my baby was relieved from flatulence and cramps

lots and lots of skin to skin and feeding on demand is one of the best things to do x
