Hi.

My DD Is 8.5 months old now. she feeds once when she wakes, up to 3 times in the day, a good feed at bed time then up to 3 times in the night. she is on 3 solid meals a day and has 2 snack times too.

Over the last couple of days i have started to notice a serious drop in supply. i feel my left side (always my lower supply side) has just dried up. I get no let down and DD is wanting another feed within an hr if she feeds from that side. my right side has always been full and reliable but even that seems to be getting low. I have always said i will let her self wean off bf but what of my supply dries up before she wants to stop? Xx

My LO is 9.5 months and I noticed a drop in supply around 7-8 months. For him it was because he wasn't so interested in milk and wanted more food so he wanted demanding enough, this became a vicious cycle as he was then consuming more and more milk.

Could she be filling up on solids? And are you BF immediately before solids?

I cut back on solids volume as he was consuming loads and loads of solids and decided to not give him snacks and BF literally immediately before solids and also every 2 hrs in the day at least. This bought back my supply and now I'm happier we have the right balance between milk and solids.
