Anyone got any ideas what I can send out in food parcels to o/h? Cannot be perishable. Any entertainment ideas to send him would also be welcome. I have a few ideas of my own but I'm sure there are loads of things I haven't thought of.

Cheers

I used to sent my brother loads of sweets and chocolate when he was in iraq. Also magazines like Zoo and copy's of the TV magazine so he could keep up with the soaps

I also used to send him books, razors and packets of pasta and sauce (its still the only thing in the world he can cook lol) xx

Thanks toon, I was gonna send choc but have been warned offcause in the heat out there will turn it into a sticky puddle! I have started a list of ideas so shall add all suggestions to it. I remember haribo going down a treat the last time xx

my bro used to like red rope licorice sent over, and chewing gum. xx

when I was in Peru my mum successfully posted me minieggs for easter, they dont melt see! :) They made me so happy cos I was there for 6 months and despite the south american origins of choclate, I felt very dissapointed in it!

A hand written letter is always so much nicer than an email, you can actually hold it and think of theother person holding the same piece of paper.

Does he like marmite? My friend loves the stuff and I posted her a load of those individual portion packs when she was abroad, you cant get it anywhere it seems!

how about a mould of your moofy?!

babywipes
razor
magazines
pot noodles
cereal bars
playing cards
paperback book
stock cubes
anything to spruce up ration packs- tabasco sauce, mustard, etc
gummy sweets

I haven't been out, but if I did go with the TA I reckon I'd chew someone's arm off for a pot noodle  Ration packs are disgusting!

Hey hun when antony was on tour i sent him.

mags

pics
shower gel
letters
oxo cubes (for rat packs)

just general things like that and stuff to cheer him up

xx

Crackers, chewing gum, breakfast bars (always good for the desk draw) I also sent my dh some decorate your own gingerbread men kit (from tesco) for a joke!

on a serious note.
a pic and mix with his fave sweets.
magazines

Thank u girlys for all your nice (and naughty) suggestions - all noted x :)

Tiny - they tend to share stuff - I dunno if I want your last suggestion passed round the section

I'd never be able to face them again lol. I'll def try the mini egg idea, I'm sure he'd be thrilled with some choc. Thanks for all the ideas so far girls. Fab. Was also thinking on the energy drink shots. Not sure if the "crash" after it would be great tho.

What about grownup blokey top trump cards! cars / bikes etc to have a game with his mates or a mini painting kit if he is arty!

I shall add them to my ideas list. Entertainment ideas are a bit trickier eh? X

I sent mine some chocolate covered raisins - they didn't melt (it only gets really, really hot around May June time I believe) which went down a storm.

I also ordered Danger Mouse DVDs, got stupid toys like the wheelchair racing grannies (wind up toys) and a flying monkey that screams when you ping it across the room (the sounds coming from the postbox...my GOD!)

One of the best received items was a HUGE box of childhood sweeties - refreshers, wham bars, cola bottles...all kinds of things - and some razor blades for his traditional razor (not disposables for my old-fashioned man ) and cigarette papers , rolling tobacco and the like.

Silly toys go down well - keeps the mood "up". As do ridiculous DVDs...Danger Mouse was fought over, apparently!

how about a PSP?? or nintendo DS?
I know when stus mate was over in irag he had PSP....loved it.

remember to provide some games for him tho lol xx
