Since i had a general anesthetic, all i seem to be doing is wheezing.. its quite bad during the night i have to get up about 3 times just to take a puff of inhaler..

If i dont take it within 5 minutes of me wheezing it gets out of hand and i end up coughing and struggling and it takes me ages to get out of it..

anyone else bad

I've had asthma like that in the past- do you take a preventative inhaler as well as a reliever one? That sorted it out for me- finding the right preventative one.

You said you had had a fever/infection- maybe it's gone to your chest a bit?

But anaesthetics are said to sometimes effect asthma a bit.

Get well soon

Im ok katyk, just annoying..

yes i take seritide inhaler, its my 4th in a 3 months .. nothing seems to suit me..

thanks hun

Hi there, I have asthma too. aHave you been to see the GP about it. I hear pregnancy alters everything. May be able to give you a steriod inhaler. I wouldn't be without mine..

I've been suffering quite bad at night with my asthm and it's horrible it keeps me awake!
I taught myself some breathing excersises and it actually really does work! I breath in deeply and count to 5 as i'm doing it then when I get to 5 I hold my breath for 5 seconds and then slowly breath out for another 5 seconds. I do it all the time when I get a bit breathless and my asthma has improved since I started doing it.

Seretide is the one that suits me. Vicks vaporub is nice too! :)

hope it gets better soon for you  Maybe try yet another different haler? Mine took a good few months to settle, sometimes it just goes through a bad patch I suppose. But for the last 3 years I've not had a problem with it. :)

Hope you don't mind me asking, I trust you are not smoking? :)

I had a thought last night after my puter was off. Are you still taking antibiotics due to your recent poorliness and op? Not saying you should stop them, but some people find there asthma is bad when they're taking some types of anti-b's. Hopefully it'll be a bit better soon :)
