This cycle has felt a little different. Around day 21, I had lots of cramping and (sorry if tmi) diarrhoea/gassy on and off for about a week. Assumed it was probably my body trying to ovulate and ignored. I am now on cycle day 37 and for the past week I have had erect, sore nipples and breasts, frequent need to urinate, nausea, acne and food aversions. Yesterday, my nose started dripping and got worse throughout the day, I now have a consistent runny nose which has come absolutely out of nowhere? I don't want to get my hopes up as I realise a lot of these are very similar to PMS symptoms, but AF hasn't shown up yet so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I took a hpt on Tuesday (neg) and another today (also neg, although convinced there is the faintest line everrrr/also telling myself I'm being delusional). I don't have my usual PMS symptoms of bloating and cramping which is unusual...but based on my previous two cycles I would assume that I would be getting a positive hpt by now? It's so hard to know for definite when your periods are all over the place, so wondered whether anyone else with PCO had had a similar experience to me and if so, how long before you tested positive?

On a side to this - if this isn't my month - does anyone have any experiences with Agnus Castus? I've heard you should take it from cycle day 1 up until ovulation, but with PCO this is quite hard to estimate...how many mg did people take per day and at what point in their cycle did they discontinue?

Thanks so much, hope I'm posting this in the correct forum section x

Hiya. I have pcos. I had two natural pregnancies that both ended in mc and went on to have 7 rounds of clomid, I have a 14 week old from round 7.

My cycles were crazy, from 23 to over 100 days, so tracking ovulation was interesting! Best way I found was to temp and opk every day. I bought the cheap opks as I used so many. Temping can be erratic with pco but it did give me an overall pattern that was accurate as opks don't tell you if you did actually ovulate they just give an idea that you might.

Thanks Snowbee. I heard that the hormone imbalance with PCO can effect the opk sticks though? A lot of people have mentioned temping, just think this may be hard in my situation where my boyfriend and I still live seperately. Does sleeping in a different bed/room have any impact on results do you know? Sounds silly but I can imagine that different room temperatures must effect results in some way? X

The opk will pick up the LH rise, LH rises before an egg is released. With all ladies but pco ladies in particular they can get a rise and not release the egg, that is why temping helps as that will confirm if an egg was released or not. Some pco ladies have high levels of LH all the time, if you are one then you can buy less sensitive opks so you don't get a positive reading all the time.

Sleeping in a different room won't make a difference to your core temperature, I've temped all over in the many years we were ttc!

I forgot to say, I tried angus castus and it didn't help me. Lots of ladies swear by it though, so worth a try.

Did they give you a treatment plan?

If you did ovulate on CD21 you should see a positive test by CD35 ish, so if you saw a faint line then you never know this could be the start of a nice bfp!

Thank you for all the advise, much appreciated :) I'll try temping next cycle for sure.

I havent started on any treatment as I thought I'd try naturally first. I've attached a pic of this mornings test, I marked a line where I'm seeing something...is it just me?

Kj I can definitely see a line there!!! I am the opposite, I have the hormones out of whack and pcos symptoms without the cysts on my ovaries. I'm pregnant with our 4th baby. We did have one 2nd trimester loss but completely unrelated to pcos. Also very fortunate to have never needed help with conception. Good luck!!

Sorry to hear about your loss megsmeadow, but massive congrats on your pregnancy :) I've taken another test this morning and definitely a bfn so I guess I'm not pregnant. Now just awaiting AF...hope she hurrys up so I can give the Agnus Castus a good go!
