I know when your milk comes in that being engorged is totally normal but I am in agony again. Milk came in last night and I am sore constantly, it sounds melodramatic but even breathing is hurting. I have stabbing pains behind my nips and expressing off isn't working - I expressed off 2.5oz in 2-3 mins, was still sore and I had resupplied within minutes.

I'm so worried about oversupply again, help :(

Unfortunately, yes. It's extremely painful.

It's truly horrid but should only be for a couple of days before it settles. Have you tried cabbage leaves?
I'd say try not to express too much, just a tiny amount to let the pressure off or your body will think it needs to produce more milk so you end up with too much and it takes longer to settle down.
Take paracetamol if it's bad and look ahead , you'll soon been in those easy pain free days :-) Xxx

Thanks pinbadge :) I haven't tried cabbage leaves but I am block feeding and it's working really well. I had a complete breakdown last night, I was in so much pain but they're much softer now. Doing as you said, expressing a wee bit off before a feed and leaving it at that. He's only on for 5 - 15 mins per feed but he's going for an hour and a half + between feeds - I'm assuming he will go for longer as he gets bigger and my boobs aren't shooting milk 6ft across the room?

Lol what an image that gave me, I'm imagining a target across the room hehe! It sounds like you're doing all the right things, I remember it felt like nothing was working and then one day I woke up feeling comfortable (and quite pleased with my new big boobs....which have almost gone back to my normal as DD only feeds at bedtime now :-( )

DD was quite an inefficient feeder at first (think it was her tongue tie) and would happily feed for an hour and then want more within an hour but it soon settled into longer gaps. Glad you're feeling a bit better today. Xx

Yes, the target is my hubby's head when he's annoying me  did you get a tingly sensation just randomly in your nipples in the early stages? Or an achy feeling around the sides of your boobs? I'm experiencing both but I'm sure I had the same with ds1. Also, did you find you were more prone to mastitis or anything?

Haha love it! Yep I remember the tingling and aching vaguely, it's amazing how much you forget isn't it. I feel like I'm starting all over again as I can't remember anything from early pregnancy!
I got a short bout of mastitis when DD was about 7 months I think, she was skipping feeds left, right and centre (getting too nosy to sit still) and I think my boobs just lost track! Managed to get to the go and cleared up within a week though.
The only thing I suffered with was a milk bleb (blister) which I think was caused by her tongue tie again, she can latch but sometimes it's a bit shallow. That was really miserable. Xx

Thanks hun, even though you had some tricky times, I feel reassured that it wasn't due to oversupply. I felt like that too but it's all coming back fairly quickly. He feeds so differently too, ds1 was always popping off and nosing at everything whereas ds2 pops on and doesn't come off til he's done. Hopefully it's easier for you next time too!
