Sorry - all I seem to do is come on here and moan about Isla's eating (or lack of...)

We went out today for a nice walk and picnic and then tried to feed Isla and she only took an ounce. I then got a bit stressed and was close to ruining the day but made a conscious effort not to worry, and just hope that she had more on the next feed.

So we got home and she then screamed before, during and after the next feed and only had an ounce again.

I then got really upset and me and DH argued.

I'm just so stressed out with Isla not eating very much. Can't stop worrying.

Oh Hun i really feel for you! its horrible when every feed is a fight! what bottles are you using? i've spent a fortune on bottles now using Avent and she's feeding slightly better, are you still expressing for her? xx

Oh hun that sounds horrible, what about trying a faster flowing teat ? I use Avent with Maisie and she finds them really easy to use xx

I know exactly where your coming from, I'm having a marathon as a write!!! Try not to worry, easier said than done. So far we have managed just under two ounces, and that will prob be it until later to be honest xxxx

Thanks guys. She's just had 3oz before going to bed so that's a bit better.

We're using Tommee Tippee bottles and she's on the fast flow teats. Do you think different bottles would help? I just think she is really up and down - last Wednesday and Thursday she had over 25 oz (i.e normal baby amount!) so she can physically do it and there was no screaming through feeds etc. But today and yesterday she has gone way back down to under 20oz. I just don't understand it!

Tegan was on Tommee tippee bottles But takes allot better with Avent ones with the 3m + teats may be worth a try? Tegans got 13oz today But she just doesn't seem hungry x these babies are such a worry x your more than welcome to pm x

Could she have silent reflux?

It is so hard not to get stressed when they won't eat, I became obsessed with how many oz's zac was having each day when he was doing this! X

I've thought about silent reflux but wouldn't that mean she would struggle with all feeds? Also she has no trouble lying flat or anything.

I'm at a loss. We're seeing a paediatrician next week so hopefully will get somewhere...

Charley's got reflux and his feeds were everywhere before being put on medication. Some feeds he would take the whole bottle then the next he would grunt the whole way through drinking like 3oz's. x x

Just incase it helps, E was also not taking much at around 2-3 months and I changed to Dr Brown bottles with a level 2 teat and her feeding changed that day. I honestly think that some babies just need particular bottles. Good luck hon.
