So we are staying Team yellow and we have our girls name sorted but I have a strong feeling baby is a boy and we are having an absolute nightmare with boys names! We have completely different taste and have looked through 2 baby books, trawled the internet etc and we literally have 2 names that we both agree on, But there are issues with both!
We really like Caleb and Brody.
With Caleb though, when I have told people they seem to have real problems pronouncing it properly, my Dad just can’t get to grips with it at all which could be a problem! So I just worry I’ll be constantly correcting people on pronunciation and spelling!
With Brody, We love it but worry that it’s too American sounding and worry that it may date quickly?

So yes, we are pretty stuck really!

I absolutely LOVE the name Sebastian but Hubs will not even entertain it..I’m gutted as I love it so much and that would definitely be my first choice!

So hard…I don’t know how we are going to decide! Hoping something else may just jump out at us in the next 20 or so weeks!!

I'm the same..struggling with boys names!! There's not even one I absolutely love at the moment..this baby is going to be nameless lol xx

same oh loves harrison but im not to keen on it as ill know hell get nicknamed harry which i personally dont like for various reasons, tried convicing him of others but hes adament haa xx

It’s a nightmare isn’t it?!
I honestly don’t know what we are going to do!

Does anybody have any thoughts on our 2 names we like? I know I shouldn’t worry about what people think if we like them but I do!!

i love caleb i tried convincing oh for caleb harrison but he damn right refused:-( and brody's a gorgeous name i love that one too sounds miamish if u know what i mean hahaha cx

Its so annoying when they are so adamant isn’t it!!
Haha! I know what you mean!
I think Caleb is the safer choice, I just worry about the pronunciation problems!

I would pronounce Caleb as 'Kay-lub'..
I love that name..also like Brody but Caleb just edges it for me..
Either choice is lovely though :) xx

Thanks Capricorn!
Yes that’s how I pronounce it! 3 people have said it as Kay-lib though! Which just sounds odd to me and not as nice! so not sure if this will annoy me!
I think its because my Parents have been quite critical of both names, its put me off a bit..I know it shouldn’t!

i pronounce it kay-lub to sounds better than kay-lib, not told my parents but id not be to bothered iv had the girls name since first time got pregnant oh picked it but i love it and yes deffo annoying when there adament haha xx

Boys names are a nightmare for us too! I'm not short of suggestions but my OH hasn't liked any of them and the one name, Oliver, we did agree on he doesn't like any more. Gah, so frustrating!

I'm being a bit unfair, we had two names picked out long before we even started trying as they were important family names but his sister used both. We'll keep the middle name but we were both disappointed. Our second favourite name, Henry, is now our Godson so we've been unlucky with names!

I love Caleb (Kay-leb for me, is that a third pronounciation for you?) and you're right, Brody does sound a little American. I'm rooting for Sebastian (funnily enough, I said no names for his football team very early on so if I mention Seb I get shot down by my own damn rule!) as my secret favourite even though it's a non starter. Good luck!

Thanks exohx123.. ah well that’s good! I just hate the sound of Kay-lib!
Yeah I know, I shouldn’t let it bother me really but I want them to like the name we choose!
Good that you are agreed on a girls name too, one less thing to worry about then!

Sparklebug yes we are exactly the same, I’ve suggested loads too! Its frustrating when you have such different tastes isn’t it!
Oh that’s a shame that your names have already been taken, how annoying!

Oh that’s funny ha! So gutted, I just love it! he said its his worse possible name though, arggghh!!

Oh yes I don’t mind Kay-leb either! Just don’t like the ‘lib’ version ha!!
Hmm, It is a bit isn’t it..I do seem to be drawn to American sounding names for some reason!! I love Jackson, Jax for short but it’s so popular now…

We really struggled with boys names and to be honest, although we *think* we have chosen - we're not really sure!!

My preference for your names is Caleb. I'd pronounce it Kay-leb (I'm Scottish) and when I asked DH he said the same. I don't think I've ever heard it pronounced Kay-lib?

Good luck deciding, I can sympathise with how hard it is!!

xxxx

Thanks Mishi! Its so annoying that you don’t get that definite feeling isn’t it! We did with a Girls name straight away..
Ah ok, well that’s good! I know, I’d never heard it like that until My Dad, Best Friend and then I heard somebody on the Radio say it that way and starting me doubting!!
x

I think both names are really nice choices. I really like American-y boys names too, not girls but boys! I really liked Cooper but worried it would date too.

I work in a school and husband is a police officer so that's made it difficult as kids put you off....and criminals deff do! lol.

Yeah that’s the thing isn’t it, sounding dated... Funny, my Hubs loves the name Hooper!! That is what he calls the baby all the time ha!
Yes I don’t know what it is about the American thing, Jesse is another one I love!

Oh goodness yes, I bet that makes it well hard, must narrow down the choices loads for you!!

I'm just hoping when baby arrives we'll be like 'oohhhh helloooo.....' and it'll just click, just like that haha x

Hi i am also having same prob .........i was convinced i was having a girl we picked girls name and im not im having a boy lol.
name i like hubby wont have as first name which is Carlo

We have agreed on Jaxon but feel im going to be explaining all time that its NOT Jackson its Jaxon lol

Few ppl have said they dont like the name but we think its very unusual and thats what we want.

Looked and looked through the net and i find boys names soo boaring and thats the only one thats jumped out at us.

Its so hard

I know of a Caleb and think it's a lovely name.
I wouldn't worry too much about what others think or how they might pronounce it.

My name is Danielle and people pronounce it 2 ways Danny-elle or Dan-yell. I prefer the second way but don't get too excited about it.

Go with what you and oh like.

We decided to not tell anyone out name choices and it cut out all the "oh I don't like this..etc etc"

x

I love Caleb and also Sebastian. Hubby not keen on Sebastian either though so that's def off the table for us!
We're not sharing our names with anyone as don't want their opinions :)

Other boy names I like are Callum, Cameron, Camden, Spencer, Hudson, Damien, Luca, Elliott, Ethan, Carter, Jordan, Julian, and Tristan.

Also love Bentley, but could never bring myself to call my baby that! More likely a pet name for me!

Good luck in your choice, you still have a while to think about it.

Boys names are a nightmare and im finding it extremely hard as ive already named 2 boys.
Funnily enough on my shortlist is caleb and my eldest son is called Brodie , so I think you have good taste in names
I like Mason, Caleb, Lennon and Jacob but unfortunatly my Oh and me xant agree on a sngle name , he likes Roman and Leon
So think we will just need to see what suits him when he is born x
