I'm guessing the test line is not as dark or darker than the control line?

no its not as dark as the control line, but its darker than any of the others.

I know it means a negative but doesnt the surge building up to it gradually get stronger lines?

True!! How do u think I feel?? LMAO!
I think i didnt O last month which meant no AF but hopefully tomorrow will bring a stronger line and ill BD like mad!
Il be happy then coz i will know to expect AF in around 14 days. i hate not knowing when ill come on! Hate suprises like that!!

Hi Jayceeesmumma, I never had a line as dark as the control line on a OPK but BD as soon as I had a faint line and got pregnant anyway. I don't want to build your hopes up but I carried on doing OPKs after getting a line and it dissappeared for a few days and then came back positive and turned out it was because I was pregnant. They do advise this is not a reliable indication of whether you are pregnant but at the end of the day it can be a sign. I really hope you are because like you I have a long cycle (but only around 40 days) and it gives you so many less opportunities doesn't it?

Thanks honey! I did have the hope of OPK as HPT positive but i keep doing HPTs but no BFP. Ive just done another one and its much stronger then yesterday and is nearly as strong as the control line! So maybe i will get my positive OPK finally!!! So frustrating!!
