Well me and OH are having problems with Job centre plus lately.

He is on stage 4 jobseekers allowance which means he has to work 9 till 5 monday to friday for 45 a week:wall2: anyway it's caused loads of problems because it is a 13 week placement which leads to the 17th december and AJ is due on the 3rd , he is going to miss absolutly everything..

I was just wondering is there anything we can claim together to get us both out of this big mess or have we just got to plod along and get on with it?

Plus it is mandatory so he has to do it or he doesn't get paid :( my first ante natael class was tomorrow too and now we can't even do that .. I also had midwife on wednesday..

Sorry I'm not sure what you can do but I didn't wanna read and run. I wasn't aware that there were 'stages' on Jobseekers Allowence? My OH claimed for it when he finished Uni and we moved to Manchester for me to be closer to my parents in preparation for LO, when I was around 28 weeks - however, he claimed for both of us. I didn't have to prove I was looking for work though coz of how far along I was in my pregnancy so only he had to go and sign on.

Maybe a trip to Citizens Advice may help? You'll probably be waiting a while but they'll be able to tell you everything you and your OH are entitled to

i dont think there much else you can do although he could take a sicky when your in labour but im not sure if by law they have to give him paternity leave or not if your normal working you can so he might be able to try fingers crossed he gets a job befor the birth:)
