Anjali has a stork mark on her forehead, sometimes it barely shows and other times its more obvious.

Should it have faded by now or might she have it permanently?

i hope it goes, because i've had a life of feeling very self conscious about certain scars and i dont want my little girl hating any part of herself

they can take a year or more to fade... connor's got ones on his forehead, eyelids, upper lip and back of the head. like anjali, they seem to come and go.

apparently i used to have a huge one on the back of my head, but its definitely not there now

Calleigh has a stork bite on the top of her neck. Somedays it is more obvious but i do think it is slowly fading.

Oh when it appears on the face its called an 'Angels Kiss' :D How sweet.
They usually fade away by the time they are two years old.

Cally has an angel kiss in between her eyebrows.

Maisie has one at the bottom of her hairline at the back. I think they are really common.

Maia has one on her right eyelid and at the nape of her neck.

When shes upset you can really see the one on her eyelid and other times its barely there. My midwife said that it might go but sometimes they don't completely disappear. She looks like she has a black eye on some black and white photos we took of her when she was a few days old.

Aaron had a V shaped one on his forehead and he had them over both eyelids. You can't see them at all now. They used to come up worse when he cried.

:o Thats exactly where Jake has his, except the one on his neck now has hair overing it so isnt as noticable

this thread is really interesting - I hadn't realised these marks had a name. April has one between her eyebrows and on her right eyelid. It comes and goes too.

What causes it?

Not sure about the causes but i found this

Stork bites occur in about one third of all newborns.

A stork bite is due to a stretching (dilation) of certain blood vessels. It may become darker when the child cries or room temperature changes. It may fade when you push on it.
