I am going away for the bank holiday weekend on a family reunion type thing. Although I don't mind feeding in public, I do find that H tends to be very fussy & doesnt feed properly, so I would like to take some bottles.

Is there anyway I can make the ebm last for a whole day? As in it will probably be from 9am til 2am. I was thinking I could freeze the milk then keep it in a coolbox with icepacks? Or will that not work?

I am planning on just doing booby feeds but I want the back up of having a bottle ready if he decides to be a pain x

Hiya, breastmilk is fine for 6 hours at room temp and I reckon if you take the frozen milk out in the morning it will be thawed by the evening so you shouldn't even need to worry about ice packs as you'd want it to defrost, so take a mixture of fresh and frozen and you should be fine! Xxx

Ooh lovely thankyou!

Now stupid question... How do I go about freezing it? Do I need special pots?

You can buy bags from boots. I think they are just called breast milk storage bags.

kellymom has info on BM storage and handling, have a look there. You can buy bags or pots. I remember ladies saying Home Bargains have bags at a reasonable price

Tapatalking so cant see signatures

Yep I just ordered some breast milk bags which come pre sterilised so really easy. I got mine off amazon but I think they are in stores too xx

Thankyou ladies!

sorry just reading this - can we not store milk in the sterilised bottle in the freezer? - does it need to go into certain bags?
