Lucas' belly button proper honks! Like as soon as you uncover it you can smell it. He has a really weird belly button it's like an outy but with a really deep bit at one side. It's all red inside and a bit sticky. Should I take him to the doc or can anyone suggest anything? Xx

Do you know, I would prob whack some sudocream in there, which will heal it up without it needing to get lots of air in too, (which isn't going to happen in a place like that) be tons better in a day

Might be worth giving your doctor a call and see what they advise just in case he's got an infection or something x

think i would clean it out properly in the bath then dry it properly and whack some sudocrem on it or something along those lines x

Has his tummy button always been an outy? my daughter had a small glumaloma(probably wrong spelling) hv noticed it at 2 weeks although i wasn't convinced so left it for another two weeks. In the end i did as they said and treated it with salt for a few days and it went down. Deffo worth getting doc to have a look though incase it is inected or the above.

Thanks ladies.

His belly button has always been weird. You know they are first born and the cord is there? Well his skin made up about an inch and a half of the beggining of the cord, like a sausage. It's hard to explain. But then once the cord dropped off the skin sausage drew itself inwards. So he has an outie but with a deep cavity at one side. I'll post a pic in a bit xx

Here's a pic of his weird belly button lol xx

It might just be a little infected because of the 'flap' of skin (the outy bit). You'll probably just need to make sure it's properly dry after his baths. My and my 2 brothers & 1 sister all have really deep belly buttons because my mum hates outty's so much that she used to push ours in everytime she changed our nappies as new borns!! (something I won't be doing when I have my own babies!) They're all very deep!! I sometimes get a sore one if I forget to dry it properly so maybe thats whats wrong with Lucas'.

Take him to the docs just to be sure though hun! :)

xxx

Thanks girls. I have an appointment for him tomorrow. I dried it really well and tried some sudocream so hopefully it will be a little better in the morning xx

It's all fixed. The doc gave me some powder to put in it and it cleared up :) xx
