still drinking water from a bottle at 16 months!

my lo is almost 16 months and she is still drinking from a bottle for water/juice

She will happily drink from anything and can even use a straw on a carton drink - but whatever she takes into her mouth she spits straight down her front - to the point she is soaked - she can go through 4 tops in a very short space of time - and will not tolerate a plastic backed bib while using a beaker! the only time she drinks and swallows is from a bottle as the technique to drink from a bottle forces them to swallow straight away where as sipping she has the option to spit out!

any ideas how to stop her spitting it out? she's my third but my other 2 never did this!

My ds did this constantly and has not long stopped. I gave up and stripped him off, it's been so warm that it probably helped cool him down. No tips on now to stop it but your LO is not alone in this!

My son used to do this and stopped around 2.. he now drinks out of them miracle 360 cups, free flow and cartons with straws.. He still drinks milk out of a bottle at night for comfort...
