M was vomiting phlegm last night, all night. Took her to the doc and was prescribed antibiotic 3mls 3 times a day. Inhaler 1 puff 3 times a day. And a soluble 5mg steroid tablet once a day. Does anyone else think this is a lot for a 1 year old? Also if anyone has had a baby on steroids for chest problems what was the outcome. I'm really worried about giving them to her. Thanks girls. X

Steroids are widely used to treat a variety of chest problems and are safe x

We had a course of steroids and antibiotics the steroids were only a three day course but was with what the doctor called wheezy bronchitis she said I'd most likely be back for an inhaler, nearly 12 months ago, he was just turned one at the time and never had to go back. The steroids won't do any harm short term I wouldn't worry and fx it clears up.

Thanks girls. It's a 5 day course we got today. I just thought it was a big amount of medication for such a little person. X
