I literally do not have a clue about them. My auntie has offered to buy this and the bottles. She's just called up to ask if we would prefer electric or microwaveable. Does anyone know what the benefits of either are?

We don't have much room so went for the Avent microwave steriliser (£10 in baby'srus) bargin! And fits other brands of bottles in

I've got a microwave/cold water steriliser as (as per PinkyPrincess) it takes up less room than an electric one.

Thanks ladies, omg there are so many variations of everything it's sooo difficult to know which is the best. I heard microwaveable ones are much cheaper. It's really nice of her to offer to get it for us, I don't wanna be cheeky and make her get the most expensive one either lol. I'm thinking because they are cheaper I might go for microwave as I'm not really sure what the benefits of having an electrical one are?

I like my electric steriliser. I like that its just its own unit. I wouldnt go for a microwave one personally, but cant really explain why lol. I had a microwave one for the breast pump and it just got on my nerves for some reason. The electric one you just press and button and be done with it. :)

I bought a microwave Avent set. Helps its was on offer. I don't have a lot of work surface so its better for me to use the microwave and get it out when I need it.

I had electric with first & micro with this baby & i'd say electric is bigger - both take around the same time & both are more or less the same tbh. If she's getting bottles as well she could get a set that has steraliser & bottles.

:)
