Hi ladies just a quick question . With my eldest two u were fine to stop sterilising at 6 mths heard rumours that it is no longer the case . So if not when is it ok to stop ?? !!! Thanks xxx

I got told that 1 year is the offical line but if you are very clean then 6 months is fine!!

Thanks MrsN both my boys were fine stopping at 6 mths and I wash the bottles in very hot water just wish they would stop changing the guidelines !!! Xxx

I was the same with my eldest, we stopped at 6 months.

Now you have to do it until a year, but only the bottle equipment, milk has more bacteria in it than anything else & it often gets stuck in the bottles & washing doesn't get out, thats why we have to sterilise, to make sure all the bacteria is gone.

Bowls, beakers, spoons, ect are all fine, its only bottles!!

Thanks little miss I've not been sterilising her bowls and spoons anyway will carry on for longer then ! Was looking forward to getting rid of the steriliser off my counter !!! Xx

I stopped at six months with H x she's been fine, as long as they are washed thoroughly x

I keep a travel sized bottle of Milton in my baby bag x so if we ever get stuck out somewhere and I don't have the means to wash the bottles well, I can stylise them in 15 mins using the Milton x
