Im breast feeding but have a breast pump and dummies etc but I'm a bit unsure about sterilising, it says on the instructions things are sterile for 6 hours so does that mean I have to sterilise things again if I havent used them in 6 hours? This don't seem long esp if I'm out! I take it expressed milk in the fridge is ok for longer than the 6 hours though? Maybe I just have baby brain!

Hi hun....I'be expressed a few times and if you google times for sterilising and storing breastmilk there are some really handy table which shows you all the storage times etc....on my phone at the mo so not sure how to do a link but I googled and there's loadsa info!

HTH xx

My steriliser says it keeps things sterile for 3 hours, but to be honest once bottles/dummies etc have been sterilised they will be fine to use, no matter if its 24 hours or whatever later as long as they haven't touched anything to make them dirty. I was totally paranoid about this at the start and re-sterilised things if it had been more than 3 hours, but theres really no need x

When I was pumping and using bottles I used to sterlise everything once every 24 hours, then even if it hadn't been used would sterlise again after that xxx

Also if your breastfeeding your baby is less likley to get bugs and things, i never steralised lannas stuff, But i wash it all in good hot water. When she was a couple months old i moved to bottles, and i would just run the teat under boiling water for a couple secs, but stopped that after about a month.
