Sterilisers

Hi all,
I am looking at sterilisers at the moment. I hope to bf, so don't want to spend huge amounts on a steriliser as hopefully I will only use it when expressing, and for breast pump, etc.
As with all baby things, there are heaps to choose from and I'm a bit confused. I have a really silly question also... Do the different brand sterilisers only fit their own brand bottle or can you use any other brand bottle in them?
I think I want an electric steam steriliser.
Any advice gratefully received!

I think they do, not sure about all of them on out there. I have the TT steam sterliser and it's designed to fit it's own bottles, but tbh I've shoved other bottles/teats and other things that needed sterlising. I BF but expressed at the start to help milk come in and I had the TT electric pump and the medela swing electric pump and I've put all the bits that needed sterlising in there too. It's never let me down put it that way lol

Thanks Maria, as you bf do you find a smaller steriliser is ok or do you have a 6 /8 bottle one? There seem to be different size ones out there.

Yeah, think it's the 8 bottle Tommee tippee steam. I got it 1/2 price, if you shop around there are always offers on that kind of thing in boots/mothercare or tescos/asda etc xxxxx

Could always go into mothercare ot toys r us and ask them to show you some.

the hand pump i got came with a tub to leave the bits soaking in steriliser fluid so im just gonna use that as i dont plan to have to express too often. OH isnt bothered about sharing feeds as he says bf is best and easier than messing around trying to express lol.

I've got a Milton cold water steriliser.. was about 15 quid from Babies R Us and is basically like a blue boxed bucket. Haven't got it out yet or anything but heard/read good reviews on them
