Hey all :)

I wondered if anyone can help me.

I have just provided notice of my maternity and asked my employer to let me know what payments I should expect.

I am entitled to 90% of my wage for 6 weeks and then the £140.98 for the following 33 weeks.

I have filled out all my details on the government website, and it is giving me a different figure to the one my boss has given me (for the 6 weeks at 90% part), meaning in total, it works out about £1,500 more than the government website??

I can see how my boss has calculated this (annual salary / 52 weeks - 10%) so I assume this is correct, but surely the government website can't be wrong?

Thanks! x

Shouldn't be different if you've put the same details in, at my work we get an extras factored into the calc so it's more than base pay.

Also did you enter salary before any deductions?

Hey Summertime,

Yeah, I put earnings before deductions. I just cant figure out where the government website have got the calculations from!

I guess i'll have to expect the least and be happy if i get more like my boss says ill get! Until then, i'll get saving!!

What your boss is telling you is most likely right, Do you get any allowances for anything ? Because that can make a huge difference to what you recieve, Also the calculation your boss is using may be different as perhaps its slighly more enchanced than the goverment calculation, The paid part of my Maternity leave has just come to an end & ive recieved almost £4000 more than i expected & ive been on full pay since i left work as my company offer an enchanced package.
