Years ago on a drunken walkhome from a friends party, before we even got engaged, my OH told me that if we had kids he had some names. Rosie and Jack. I thought this was really sweet and we ended up having a long convo about what we'd do if I got pregnant then.
What I hadn't clocked at the time was that he was naming our future children after his then fav tiples! Old Rosie and Scrumpy Jack ciders!!
But the names stuck, and now that we're getting married and trying for a baby we're really saying that we're going to use them.
My Nan has been very sick in hospital lately (she has 2 - 6 months according to the docs) and as she is the only grandparent I have ever spent time with I also want to use her name. So we're saying that daughter #1 will be Rose Ellen. Ellen was also the name of my OHs gran so he was happy with that choice.
As it happens, one of my grandfathers (one I never met) was called Jack (well, John, but nick-named Jack) and thanks to him and his clever investments neither me nor my mum have ever gone without in our lives. So I love the idea of using Jack for him too. Without this man I never met my life would be so different, and nothing like as comfortable! We haven't gone as far as a middle name for Jack yet. Nothing has jumped out yet.
But as we are yet to concive I think we have plenty of time to think of one!
What sounds good with Jack?
