Stairgates

The time has come to think of getting stairgates for my house, but what ones should I get? I have a standard door in the lounge to the kitchen, but the stairs come off the lounge and the gate will have to be fitted between a banister and a wall if that makes sense??

I have a lindam pressure stair gate which is good. I'd say a pressure one is good if you don't want to screw it into the wall and mark the walls. There are quite a few about which are good but yeah pressure ones

I have the screw in the wall Baby Dan gates which are really good. I didn't want one with a bar along the bottom that I could trip over (as we've got them upstairs aswell).

Hiya Sami

I've got two Lindam easy fit plus gates and I really like them
They fit openings between 750mm and 820mm. You can get Lindam extensions to fit these gates where the opening you are putting it measures greater than 820mm.
Have a look at http://www.lindam.com

Sami I would recommend going into say, Toys R US and havig a go at opening them. Some of them look great but are a right pain in the bum to open. Mine are really easy to open but my friend bought the ones that looked best and it's so frustating trying to get around in her house!

I have lindam too, this one

Thanks for that. The stairs at the bottom I may have to get a screw in one as it's just 820mm wide, and I think it would be safer screwed in. Stupid house design with the stairs being off the living room  I'll have to get ones for the top of the stairs and onto the kitchen too I think. Think we'll have to ask the landlords if we can, they are really strict on things being put on the walls.
