safety gates

we got a lindham safety gate upstairs its one of those pressure ones, and the gap between the banister rail and wall where we've put it is 76cm, we got it from argos for only bout £18. we need another one for the kitchen, but iv had a right mare with them! first i got another one and it didnt fit (gap is 73cm and the gates are minimum 75cm). then i exchanged it for the correc size but got home and found its the screw/drilling ones which is no good

we want a pressure fit gate that fits 73cm gap, preferably not more than £20. can anyone steer me the right way?! thanx!

can you get the other one, the first one you exchanged and use a block of wood to make the gap smaller? thats what i did becase the gap was too big!!
