I am looking for stair gates that screw to the walls. Are these standard sizes or do they extend.

Any know any cheaper places to look?

Oliver can climb the stairs!

We got a screw-in one for the top of the stairs from Mothercare - the wider one was £18 I think. That was a lot cheaper than the pressure mounted ones.

I've got two Lindam easy fit plus gates and I really like them
They fit openings between 750mm and 820mm. You can get Lindam extensions to fit these gates where the opening you are putting it measures greater than 820mm. They are quite reasonably priced in Argos.

Thanks girls, We got the LInden ones from argos. The house is now baby proof. Although he can still get up one step as the banister ends before the last step. Wheres my baby gone!

It's a shame you don't live nearer to me, we got some free stair gates from our Sure Start centre, screw in ones but as we're moving house we've bought Lindam pressure fitting ones.

So I have a pair of stair gates going free but they'd cost a lot to post.

oh thank you. they used to give sure start stair gates here too but they stopped it. our house looks like a farm now!
