spotting

hi everyone

has anyone had spotting in the second trimester??? ive had it twice but the baby is ok any ideas what it could be?

Yes I did, I must have been around 18 / 19 weeks and was so frightend that I was going to loose my baby, I went to the hospital and after 5 and 1/2 hours of waiting around one of the doctors did a scan and the baby was fine - he was concerned that the placenta might have been lying too low, but after doing an internal examination he came to the conclusion that the spotting was coming from my cervix and not from the womb. The cervix can become quite tender during pregnancy and can bleed for no reason (as in my case), sometimes this also happens after intercourse. Any which way I was soooooo relieved after having gone to the hospital, fortunately I haven't had any spotting since !
