Happy to report the news of our beautiful baby daughter, Isla Shona on sunday afternoon. She caught us by surprise by arriving very quickly indeed. The official time for the whole three stages combined being 2 hours and 40 minutes so i had NO pain relief . She was tiny at 6 pounds nine and a half ounces but a good size considering she was early scoring two nines in the apgar tests. Spent two nights in hospital but so glad to be home. Still getting to grips with breastfeeding as she is having trouble staying awake when she feeds,but were getting there. We also had a nightmare with the camera, so will post some pics as soon as I can. Nothing prepared me for just how tired i'd feel but she is worth EVERYTHING !

Thanks ladies, shes a wee bit jaundice still, but doing fine. Spent two nights in the maternity ward, probably the worse place on earth to get any sleep and a very emotional couple of days trying to get her to breastfeed. I hand expressed my colostrum for her and gave it via a siringe. My milk came in yesterday and we're perservering offering her the breast every three hours, the MW thinks that her mouth is just too wee to get enough boob in, but in the meantime i'm expressing sooooo much milk and shes having a good 30-60mls of ebm after the breast attempt every three hours. She was weighed today and has only lost 6% of her body weight so i'm hoping that she'll start to fatten out soon...she looks like a wrinkly puppy that has someone elses skin on her...but is simply the most beautiful sleepy baby in the world!!

I'm completely shattered, its amazing what adreniline does, but i'll have a bath and a wee kip before next feed....ooo and we can finally wash her hair, been desperate to get the gunk off and finally see that lovely mop in all its glory.
