Hey, I was wondering if anyone can help?
The past couple of days I have had really sore thighs and top part of my arms.
At first I thought it was water retention but I have looked online and all the accounts I have read on water retention stated they had it mainly on their ankles and lower legs. I'm only 6 weeks pregnant and the only women i have read who have had problems with water retention this early on are fuller women. I'm really unsure what's going on as I'm not unwell and I haven't ever had a problem with this before. I'm healthy and a healthy weight so I'm really confused and worried. Has anyone ever had this problem so early on if so what can I do?

Where abouts is the swelling? And is it in lumps or fairly even? If you have lumps of swellings in places like your groin/inner thigh and underneath the tops of your arms (almost armpit) then it could be your lymphatic glands. These can become very painful when they are swollen. If it's a more generalised swelling (i.e. whole thigh) then I'm honestly not sure without seeing. Does it ping back out if you poke your finger into your leg? Or does it take a while to return and leave a white mark?

I've had all over bloating/swelling as my circulation is increasing, but what you are describing plus the soreness prompts me to tell you to see your GP. They'd rather see you and tell you not to worry than to miss something, this is even more especially true when pregnant.

It's all over and pings back but leaves a white mark. It feels almost as if my outer layer of what I'm guessing "fat" hurts. It hurts to cross my legs and the pain is more on the outside of my thighs and arms like a giant bruise but with no signs. I'm going to try and see my doctor but I can never get an appointment hence me comming here first for advice. Should I be concerned about it at all? Oh and thank you so much for the reply, I was worried no one would.

You can get obstruction of the venous return which would cause your symptoms, but only rarely and in very late pregnancy! So that's hugely unlikely. It could be an allergic reaction, it's both sides and on all four limbs then it's unlikely to be thrombosis or anything of that nature.

You MUST get to the doctor and get it checked out, even if it's just a totally innocent swelling you could end up with cellulitis if it's not treated correctly.

If your doctor won't see you in the next few days then I would say you must either take yourself to your local walk in centre or A&E.
