Hi everyone!!

Sorry I didn't do too many updates, it was a long labour and we weren't allowed to plug chargers in so kept phones off most of the time.

At Home:
So! I started having contractions on Tuesday night, went to bed but at 3am I couldn't not make a noise every 10 mins!! I woke Matt up about 5.30am as I'd stopped being able to read through them too! Don't actually remember much of Wednesday and Thursday. they went down to every 5mins, but would then go to back to 7.

Thursday night was misery, Matt set up a camp in the living room (I coped better for some reason there!) so we were on the floor on the sofa cushions sleeping for 2 mins then me screaming for a bit (I hate our upstairs neighbours so didn't hold back :)

Eventually they got to about every 3 mins so ran the hospital that I was finally gong to come in (had been phoning every so often since it started). We were so worried I wouldn't be 4cms and would be sent home, so decided to get a hotel room if they did!

In Hospital:
Got to hospital about 6.15am. Thank goodness, I was 5cms!!! And the midwife broke my waters by accident, which was great cos I really didn't want a needle popping them!
They got the pool ready really quickly and got me in it with the gas and air, and was in there quite a long time. At 11am I was 7cms which I was disheartened about, but they were really happy with me!

Unfortunately I couldn't wee, so they were really unhappy about me being in there much longer, so I went back to my room. Not sure what time that was!

After the head could be seen Matt said it took another around 3 hours, most of which I was totally off the gas as had to focus.
The end was pretty traumatic. I was totally exhausted, my stomach muscles were so painful and I'd stopped being able to tell when a contraction was happening so had to keep asking! Finally her head popped out and I got to rest for a while! Matt suddenly went, 'it blinked at me!!!' after a couple of mins rest we got her out.

She didn't scream so they put her straight on me face down, so still didnt know if it was q boy or girl (they were all - about 6/7 midwives - under strict instructions to let Matt tell me!). And once she started making a noise she was turned over!

They'd brought the resus unit in just in case as it was such a long labour, esp the end, which really worried Matt, but I was totally unaware of!

She's totally fine though. Passed meconion (sp?!) as she came out so we had to stay for 24 hours, and didn't wee for a long time (yesterday morning was the first) and hasn't been feeding too well, but have found she likes really long ones (it's 8:45 and she's been going since 8:05!) then is happy for 6-8 hours!

She's fab, I love her to bits. She's been so good, had 7 visitors on her first day and was fine about it! Doesn't like going from one to another, but settles within seconds. She has 4 overly proud Grandparents and 2 Aunties and has already been spoiled with pressies!

Sorry, that was a longy!! And can't add photos from my phone, but will add when I'm on the laptop, although there's one on facebook if you can see it!
Xxx
