As my ticker says im 33 weeks 4.
Doctor told me baby is fully engaged and could come earlier than due date but not too early to be premature!
I asked if i can go out shopping walking she said yes but not to over stress my self but she defenitely recomended walking from now.
Mum and my friend are worried they say I should take full rest for at least 2 weeks then I can start go out and walk.
I really don't want to stay home. im in London and haven't been here for a while need to do some shopping and walking with DH.
what would u all recomend ? I am afraid if I do go out and baby comes too early I would never forgive my self.

 When the baby engages isn't definitive to when it comes out! When I saw my midwife at 36+6 baby wasn't engaged at all but I had Evie at 38+4!

I'd recommend keeping active-IMO it makes a huge difference to the way you will labour. Don't do too much but if you spend the next few weeks on a sofa doing nothing you'll feel it!

Don't be too worried about baby coming early- if the doctors/midwife were overly concerned they would have you in hospital being monitored!

IM 37+2 weeks now and collier is still floating free

Id keep mobile love just take it easy and dont rush things if you go shoppping take lots of pit stops and breaks have a coffee or a little snack once in a while to refuel as you shop.

I wouldnt think compleate rest is needed hunny BeckyJ baby has been engaged for weeks now and baby is still tucked up nice and snugg so i wouldnt worry love
Your Mum is of course worried as well shes your Mum  but id take the Docs advice

you go out and enjoy your shopping 8)
sarah

Other than with serious conditions, I do always think the best thing to do is keep active. As far as I know, babies can engage and disengage. I do not think you are risking prem labour to take nice, non exhaustive trips around the shops of London.

Enjoy!

I'd carry on as normal. I think you are worrying too much. I think your Doctor is being over cautious and causing you to worry.

Babies can engage weeks before arrival and disengage then also, so your LO might pop back out anyways and not engage again fully till nearer delivery time. I was engaged at 35 weeks and am now only 3/5 engaged as of last week. It really is no indication you will go into labour early.

2 weeks rest is silly IMHO. Unless there is a genuine medical condition preventing you from being active/mobile I don't see any need to rest for 2 weeks because your baby is engaged. When it might also disengage and you won't know about it anyways.

I'd carry on as normal doing what you have been doing, be that walking, driving whatever you are comfortable with.

And stop worrying so much

Thanks all,
about baby being engaged and disengaged well , hmmm, I know he's still well engaged as I feel a big difference, my bump has dropped and heartburn is less i could breath much easily and no heart burn

I dont think the engagement and disengagement is a daily thing. think its a gradual process. Just simply that being engaged doesnt alays spell imminent labour :)

Lucky you :moon:
My bump dropped a few weeks ago and im still geting heart burn
sarah

Hehe nice.

Thats just dropped though, not always engaged when they do that ;) The relief is because they are lower down and not squishing everything higher up anymore. I found the same when my LO dropped but tbh I never suffered too badly as I have a long torso so didn't get much heartburn or short of breath as badly as some.
