Hello
I gave birth to my daughter 2weeks ago Monday, it was a very very truamatic labour, this resulted in the doctor having to rip me, tmi, sorry. So I ended up having stitches. And today I've been sore and I feel very bruised down below, is this normal? And I also have the urge to wee but when I get to the toilet the sensation is still there but nothing happens?? The only way I can is by going into the shower and holding the water to me. I had a cathata as I had the epidural. It's starting to really get me down now. Sombody help pleaseeee. Thankyou.

Hope u are ok hun. I had internal stitches but no external ones and they are sore ( I had baby just under 3 weeks ago) I'm not sure about going for a wee I'd say if u still struggle maybe pop and see your doc next week. I also had a cathater and epidural ( actually had a c section) and they wouldn't let me leave until they saw I was going toilet correctly. I'd suggest to keep an eye on it xxx

I had a section catherter and spinal,so I would say normal to have a little bit of that feeling when you go to the loo, for a few days , but not after two weeks really? maybee a small urine infection caused by it all? Def worth checking it out , incase antibiotics needed atall?

Let us know how you get on hun X

I had a weird 'pressure' sort on pain in my urethra and pubic bone for ages after giving birth, which reminded me a bit of when you have cystitis but not the stinging part? Anyway I put that down to having a catheter and it went away eventually!
If you are still worried you could see docs x

I'd see your doctor if you are worried, you might have a little urinary infection which can sting as you go. At my antenatal classes, the midwife suggested that if you do have a tear, with or without stitches, that one of the ways to combat some of the stinging is to keep a bottle with a sports cap on, like a mineral water bottle, in the bathroom that's filled with water, and when you are on the toilet, squeeze the bottle between your legs aimed at your sore bits. Its similar to the shower method, but prob way more convenient as you can go at other times too!

Yessss this sounds exactly like what I have. It's vile, how long did it last for you? I had to send a wee sample off and its came back clear so I'm also putting it down to the catheter. They ain't exactly gentle with it am they! Lol thankyou. X

I've had this too, the need to pee but then not being able to go my mw said was probably an infection, but it had stopped by the time I told her lol
And the weird pressure type feeling I think is down to the catheter, like you say they aren't exactly gentle about it lol
