Softcups and TTC

I just learned of this and my husband and I want to try it. I don't know the most about it but they are cups you use for menstruation and people insert them after they BD. Wasn't sure if anyone had success, used these either way, or is going to use them lol

I am kind of embarrassed but yeah I was like...let me ask!

Ive heard of those and I think lots of people swear by them when it comes to menstruation but as far as TTC Im not quite sure how they would help?
Ive never used one but wouldnt that just catch whats coming out anyway? So I dont see how it would get the sperm back up there? But I really have no experience with them at all so someone else might know more?

Its nothing to be embarrassed about at all though, especially not in this forum lol

Some people swear by them but I don’t see how they can possibly help. If the sperm are going to fall out, they’re dead. They just catch dead sperm.

I dont see harm in trying to be honest. Conflicting info on when sperm does / doesnt die when ejaculated. Some say 2hrs till they finally die others say more or less instantly!??? Make up your own mind & decide. Theres no harm in doing it thats for sure!
On Channel 4s great sperm race they imply it is a little while till they die. Again who knows?
Personally, yes i am starting to use this. And will do this cycle IF i ever do Ovulate! GL!

I also don’t really see how they work. I’ve read info that says if the sperm doesn’t enter the cervix within half an hour of orgasm then it won’t be able to after that as it’s basically dead. I’d just lie down for a while after sex to give them the best chance x

I always worry about the possibility of infection with reusing things like that. I don't think they're disposable. As long as you are really careful it should be fine.

I've used lady cups for AF for quite a while now, and long as you remove them every 12 hours, clean them thoroughly, and sterilize them once a cycle, they should be fine!
I wouldn't let the cup sit with semen for 12 hours though! I think you can get the same effect if you lay with your legs up for 10 minutes.x

I have these disc ones that you throw away after (so one time use). Not sure about keeping that thing in there 12 hours though I don't want something like infection as some have mentioned here. I have 14 of them and am on my period now thinking of trying one for my period lol!

I’ve never heard of this but thought I’d mention PreSeed as an alternative? £20 in boots and no concerns about infection x
