I got into a huuuuuuuge argument with some religious nut jobs when i was in year 9/10 - they were all like god plans everythin etc and i was like 'oh yeah so thats why my mums got cancer and might die cos god says so?!' and they started sayin 'yes'!!!! i flipped and slammed the door and let the dogs out on the street to chase them loooooooooooool

I told them in a very strong French accent (which I normally DON'T have, at least not as much!): "I'm sorry I don't understand English. I've just moved to England." They apologized saying they couldn't speak French and left

i might try that but the only language i could pull it off in would be greek lol

will just have to make sure its not one of them thats stopped to talk to me before lol

i was running late for school once when they stopped me outside the appartments i lived in, i literally left them in mid sentance after telling them 4 times i had to go to school and they were going to make me late

I have a 'vulnerable' friend who was a JW once and it screwed him up big time so I did once tell this old geezer in his 80's that his lot were the scum of the earth and if he or his colleagues came back I'd set my dog on him.

Two of them came round at the weekend and I told them I wanted to go to Hell as it was the only chance of a holiday in the sun I was likely to get!!! I confused them away.... (an OH was shouting down the stairs set the dogs on the God botherers - that may have influenced them too lol)

I had a lady call whilst I was pregnant and I opened the door and she gave me a leaflet and asked if i would read it (and i did) then she popped back the next week and gave me another one - most of the time i was in nightclothes (lol) so she always said 'i won't keep you' but she was always really nice.

She left me some baby bits on the doorstep once Fi was born which I thought was sweet!

I'm too nice to tell her that I don't believe any of it!

but some of those responses are hilarious! I might try the accent one if any come to this house

I usually do start off fine and say that I am not interested, but the ones that visit me (and note I am not generalising!) don't go away, they come back weekly, they put their foot or hand in the door way so you can't close the door.... that freaks me out the way they are coming in to MY personal space! It freaks me out big style, especially if I am home alone with Arianna, for all I know this weirdo with their hand in my door could be anyone!
Thats when I tell them to bog off and shut the door!

tbh i've never been rude and I don't think I would be. I can see why it annoys people but equally i can see that they believe something and that is why they are doing it. xx

p.s i have always read everything i've been given as i promised myself i'd give every opinion a chance

I usually talk to them, or if i'm busy say i'm busy. I dont know why anyone would be nasty to them. They've taken time out to preach to you for your sake not for theirs, even if you dont agree with them, (which i obviously dont) you can still be polite.

We had an interesting experience with these guys lol

2 men knocked the door and Luke answered so i went upstairs to sort babys room ( Lovella wasnt born yet ). When i came down again, thinking they had gone, i was shocked to see them both - AND LUKE- kneeling on the floor praying They were Mormans *sp?

Not only did they take 55 minutes to leave, they left a bible.... & Luke invited them back and they phoned constantly for the following 8 weeks Lukes fault tho

Luke isnt at all religious, he's just too kind for his own good lmao.. but i warned him to call me next time we had unexpected visitors!

And all I was trying to say is that are quite persistant.
I dont know about that religion or any (I am a free spirit) but people are just stating that they are fed up with people trying to put there beliefs on others.
I'm sure the same would be said for any religion that constantly knocked on your door.
You need to look at it from both sides.

do other religions go around knocking on doors? we only seem to get jehovah's witnesses round my way that and charities. maybe its just the area we live in You see them in groups standing on corners getting ready to walk up the next road. they always looks so smart - almost like they are going to a wedding.


Unfortunately if you become part of a group you have to take both the positive and negative ideas and impressions society has. It only takes a few bad apples to spoil the barrel (is that the phrase?!). Plus bad experiences tend to stick in peoples minds more than good. You could have 20 people knock at your door from the same organisation, and if one is rude, you paint the whole group with the same brush - its just what humans seem to do.

Yes Mormons do a lot of knocking on doors too. Probably more than JW do, round my way anyway.
