Definitely get it checked out on Wed.........Im quite itchy now too!

Can also relate to the hip thing, my hips wake me up from about 3am......and from then on I have to turn over in bed every 20/30 mins as they hurt so much - funny thing is Im fine once Im up and walking around! It feels like a really bad cramp, and it get worse every night!

They should take a blood test for you Mel to make sure its not your liver!

Yeah they did one last time as i mentioned i had some itching, it was mainly on my face before, its all over now but i doubt it will be anything, ill deffo mention it though thanks ladies

Deffo get that checked out hun as Im sure it can be a sign of something (will have a look for you)

Heres some info hun:

http://www.askbaby.com/pregnancy-cholestasis.htm

Mild itching is common in pregnancy because of the increased blood supply to the skin. In late pregnancy the skin of the abdomen is stretched and this may also cause itchiness. Wearing loose clothing may help.

Severe generalised itching, without a rash, particularly in the last four months of pregnancy may be the only sign of a more serious problem called obstetric cholestasis. This is a potentially dangerous liver disorder, which seems to run in families, although it can occur without any family history. It is important to contact your doctor if you have troublesome itchy because obstetric cholestasis may lead to premature labour, stillborn or serious health problems for the baby, and to an increased risk of maternal haemorrhage after the delivery.

If itching becomes severe, or you develop jaundice (yellowing of the whites of the eyes and skin), see your doctor. Itching which is associated with a rash may also need treatment if it is severe.

Thanks morgan, i knew about that condition, dont want it to be that at all so im deffo gonna tell the middy on weds

hope you feel less itchy soon hun

i know what you mean about hips in bed, i thought it might be because i was staying in bed to long lmao but it could just be a pregnancy thing then

They have been quite bad while ive been cleaning up today too, along with my poor back, doesnt help our hoover has broke so im down to sweeping all the stones and stuff up with a long handle dust pan and brush, its killing me but cant afford a new hoover yet :(

Hiya Hun

You need to tell your midwife straight away really, or ring the antenatal day unit straight away. I got Diagnoised with Obstretric Cholestasis when I was about 32 weeks and it is a very serious condition that needs monitoring and you will also ned medication for the rest of your pregnancy if you have it. They will have to a blood test to test your bile acids.

I dont want to scare you as it could be nothing, but you are better getting it checked, then at least you know either way, and if it is O.C then you can start treatment and they will keep a close eye on you. xxx

Take care, and if you want any more info or a chat about it then feel free to P.M me xxx

Hope you stop itching soon. At least your man understands that must be a rare thing.

Grace xx

so should i not wait till weds you think, its not so bad atm and unlike last time my hands and feet arnt itching, what should ido im worried now :(

Aww hun  try not ot worry too much, just ring the number on your notes (in my area it was the antenatal day unit) I told them that I was itching at it was alot worse on a night and I wanted to be tested foe Cholestasis and they got me in straight away and took my bloods.

Good luck and let me know xx

my belly is really itchy i think its due to all the extra hair ive grown lol
alos down below is always itching is this normal lol

Well all middys phones are switched off so trying the antenatal clinic now but its engaged. Babies movements have been less overthe past 3 days but bubs always has a few days when its quieter, im sure ive still got 10 movements but im gonna mention that too

3.6.33 well just phoned the and they want me to go in nd get checked out so just waiting for gals mum to come get hope and drop me off, ill let you kno how i get on x

you know i would tell you to get it checked out and then go on about how it can be normal, but can also be a sign of OC - so i won't. as for it being your hands and feet, mine was worse in the inside of my wrists! You know where i am if you need me sweetpea

Either way, i found a cold flannel helped (and does now), aquasis cream was lovely, i was given prition to help (but that may have just been due to the condition), and i was told camolie lotion was meant to help - although i never tried it. There was nights when i would put soft bandages around my arms to give me a break from itching them in my sleep - that and keeping my nails VERY short so i couldn't damage myself too much.

VickiC - im sure someone will correct me if im wrong, but itching down below can be a sign of thrush
