So painful, I feel sick!

24 hrs since India was born and I'm in agony!! She latched on straight away, and has really been going at it. But my goodness I'm in so much pain. I remember from before it hurt, but geez!!!! Slapping the lanisnoh cream on, but it doesn't seem to be working.

I think I'm doing things right. I mean, if I put her down she cries and cries and tries to suck her hands, but eventually gives up and screams. I'm sure with Sophia she woke in the night, I fed, she went to sleep..., India will not sleep!!! Argh!!

Ella sleeps......but only on me or Daddy soon as she goes down in her basket ww3 breaks out!

I had this problem too, I found swaddling to be a life savor! It really worked for us. I also think it's the temperature, they're nice and warm on you and then placed in their cot/basket it's colder, so maybe rub the mattress a bit or somehow warm it up maybe that will work.

I also tried keeping my hand under R's head for a few minutes as I placed him in the basket and that warmed the sheet a bit before I removed my hands xx

Give it a few weeks and they'll get used to the basket, both of my girls were the same. At the moment the world is very scary and they just want to be close to mummy and daddy. This phase won't last forever so don't think your creating any bad habits

And the first 10 days of bf for me with were horrendous. Even second time round it was vile. I just forced myself to take each day at a time knowing that by day 10 the cracked nips would be healed xxx

Is your nipple pointing towards the roof of her mouth, did you try biological nursing? Also, has she been checked for tongue tie? I remeber first days were tough until we got the latch right but still in pain when first latching. Does the pain go.when she feeds?

I though lt maybe tongue tie, but aparently she's fine. I think she's on ok, just need to toughen up!! I think with Sophia we both learnt together, but India just went straight on at full suck!!

Managed a few hours in the basket tonight, hoping she'll go back down in it after this feed, will try with the hand warmy thing, thanks!!
