Sorry Ladies, this may be a long post but I NEED to rant...

Just got home from the docs...scan showed up nothing and blood test just showed that I had an elevated hormone level. Now, is it just me or would my hormone level be elevated cos I was ovulating when I had the blood test taken??? The Doc didn't pick up on this and now wants to refer me to a gyney to not only find out why I'm getting pain but also, get this, TO SEE ABOUT MY FERTILITY!!!!! We have been trying for FIVE MONTHS, that's it! Even I know 5 months is nothing when trying for a baby. God I'm so annoyed. She asked me when I was next due on and I told her about 10 days roughly and the fact I was probably OV last week didn't even enter her head. Apparently I have to see the gyney to 'find out if I do OV and why I'm having trouble getting pregnant'...I'm annoyed at myself cos I was so taken aback that I didn't even say to her I was probably OV last week.
I also told her that this morning I started getting a really horrible pain in my boobs, like a pinching feeling through my nipple and she showed no interest in that at all...
xxxxxx

Thats is a shame you had such a awful experience at the doctors today. I am surprised she did not seem interested n the new symptoms you have got today, that is absolutely disgusting that the doctor showed no interest.

Just hope the pain and pinching is a good sign, i wish you all the luck. Hope you feel better soon.

Why oh why do doctors stop seeing people and stop talking and listening to the people! My best advice would to be follow what ur body is telling u and ur right 5 months is nothing! Maybe if possible u could ask to see a diffrent doctor. I hope ur ok xxx

Oh hun its a shame she didn't listen to you,

BUT if it was me I would be pleased that I was getting referred to get things checked out, Just because the scan and blood test didn't pick up anything doesn't mean that there isn't still something going on.
I mean you still have the pains so obviously they need to find out why,

And in the mean time at least you know there is nothing wrong from your scan

I don't know if anyone else is thinking this but I just have a feeling you are going to get your BFP when you test and all of this won't matter then anyway!

I have calmed down a bit now so no more capital letter shouting from me, promise!!!

Its just so frustrating...I agree Bonny that it would be a good thing but I went through all this last year, ended up having to have an op to see if they could find anything regarding the pain, in the end I had a Laparoscopy, Hysteroscopy and even a Colonoscopy to see if it was more bowel related and everything came back as being in perfect working order (and those are words direct from both Specialists!)...I asked the gyney specialist back then if he could see any reason why I could struggle to have children and he said no, I should have absolutely no worries in that dept.

I really do hope I get my BFP even more this month so I can go round there and tell her to shove her referral up her backside!!! But I dont know, all I wanted was some answers as to why my cycles have changed so suddenly and now I have all this looming over me again...

When she said that my blood test showed elevated hormone levels I had a split second of 'OMG...I'm gonna get my BFP'...and then realised that I had the test Weds, smack bang in the middle of baby making week...

Sorry, turned out to be another long post!!!! :oooo:
xxxxx

Sorry Hun didn't realise u had all that done last year, maybe when you get your appoinment through you can go and explain all this and they will be more sympathetic/understanding and be able to offer you some real advise as to why your cycles have changed
fingers crossed you get your bfp next week though x x

Sorry you've had such a frustrating day. Rubbish that your doc wasn't listening to you and didn't put 2+2 together about your ovulating. Hope it gets sorted, fingers crossed its sorted by a BFP at the end of this month :)

Ah you have had a right bad day Jar Jar. I can't believe the doc didn't listen to you, you know your body better than anyone else. Did she shay what hormones were elevated ? as surely there could be several types of hormone , and may not be directly related to OV, so I think that a refereal is a good thing, even if they get nowhere they are trying for you.

Bonny I also have a good feeling about Jar Jar at the moment! Roll on AF due time X

Hi sorry you had to have a rant, and please tell me to mind my own but i think i missed part of the thread and dont get why you went to the docs? Also what pains have you been having as im going to the docs tomorrow as i been getting pain and alsorts... bit worried about what the doc will be like as im not her greatest fan but she is the only female doc... xxx

Thanks Ladies, I really do hope its my month but I dont know, just not feeling it...probably gonna have another disappointment next week...But no, I will stay positive!!!! Fingers crossed for me!!!! :rotfl:

K8, they are pains really low down, where my ovaries are, both sides. Cant even really describe what type of pain, the closest I could get is like a pinching type feeling...but that isn't originally why I went docs, I went cos my cycles all of a sudden went from a steady 27/28 days every month to 35 days one month and then 30 this month so I was hoping I could get some answers as to why but instead it has kicked all this off, partly cos I've registered at a new docs and they dont have my records from last year cos I was sent private through my work.
xxxxx

Oh and JJ, she didn't say what hormones were elevated but I asked her what it could be (before I realised about my OV) and she said 'maybe polycystic ovaries, thats why I need to see the test results from the scan' cos she hadn't had them back by then, I had to wait back out in the waiting room for her to get them. AND, she also said, at the very beginning 'I'd like you to have a scan, I will refer you' so I said 'I had one last week'...

Sorry u had such a bad time at docs jarjar.

I dont think doctors ever read ur history...i once went to pick up a prescription wen i was heavily pregnant wiv my 2nd,the receptionist said that the doctor wanted me to make an appt to see him,i must have looked a bit concerned so she whispered "its ok,its just for your pill review!!" I turned to the side and said "bit late,im 7 months gone" lol xx

They can be really useless cant they???
I would have loved to have seen that receptionists face when you did that by the way!!!

Sorry to hear you are having a hrd time jarjar. Some docs can be quick to jump to conclusions and try to treat the symptoms rather than the person. I would ask to see another gp if you are unhappy with what she told u. Hope you get some answers soon xxx

I am quite lucky I think, my medical at work is on June 1st and they are the one's that originally referred me last year so I shall talk to them about it, try and get the notes from last year and take them round to my new doctor.
xxxx
