stupid spd has flared up so theres no way we'll be bding tonight, its really painful and tking my breath but i refuse to take anything just in case, feels like it did when i was 9mths pregnant

its symphysis pubis disfunction, basically with each pregnancy the gap inthe pelvis opens and then goes back to normal(usually) with spd,the gap stays open or doesnt close properly and it hurts to walk and open my legs etc i had to be induced a week earlier with last pregnancy and was on crutches and had to wear a corset type belt,i cant remember who but i someone on here has had to have a section because of it.

I had SPD with damien, it's evil. My his have already started to twinge from the hormones, I hope I don't get it so bad this time :(

i never got rid of it,2 years on and it still hurts, worse thing is its now effecting my lower back due to my stance when it plays up

I was lucky enough for mine to go fairly quickly. I've never heard of it going on so long, I can't imagine :(

My sis had that and had to have a section on her 2nd baby she couldn't go anywhere I used to take her around tesco in a wheelchair she was on crutches all the time too she ended up starting her maternity leave when she still had 11 weeks to go. It took about a year after the birth for it to clear up. She was advised not to have anymore kids as it could put her in a wheelchair permantely but she slipped up and got pg again luckily for her this child was a girl and so different hormone levels and she didn't suffer as much. She also found a cyropracter (sp?) who specialised in this problem and he did wonders for her kept her off crutches and out of wheelchairs for the whole pregnancy she obviously had to have another section and it did take a while for her to recover.

i suffered really badly with my 2nd pg and was on crutches and had like a giant belt to take some weight off my pelvis, it was agony i used to be in tears doing the simplest of things, hoovering i reckon was evil!
i dont know why but i didnt get it half as bad with my 3rd pg and i hope if i get pg again it wont rear its ugly head again!!

i have heard of it lasting a god few years after the birth of your baby and the women who gave me physio said that she knew women that never got rid of it, i really feel for you loulou
