So bl**dy rude!

We've emptied a few bags of asda chew sweets into a bucket and say they can grab a handful each. I live on the outskirts of town so the only kids knocking are those who live locally which is good but I will only give sweets to kids who have dressed up. My OH reckons we should make them sing or "do something" for their treat but I'm not that harsh! No rude ones so far this year!

Ok ok now Im fuming :x

My lad and I carved a pumpkin and put it on the front lawn and i just went out there to see if it was still lit and some f****** had nicked it  Im so peed off i have locked the door, refuse to answer the door again.Thats it, Im not giving sweets out ever again

Im sad for my boy, we had fun doing that earlier and we like to watch it rot down over the coming days in the back garden :(

Some people go out of their way to ruin things dont they :( Last Christmas we put up one of those 'Santa stop here' signs for Maddisons first Christmas and within a couple of days someone had stolen it :(
Hubby has taped up the doorbell now and we're not answering the door :shakehead:

This is why we don't answer the door anymore. Round here it's mainly teenagers who would only be happy with money to go on their cheap cider

It's such a shame as it's not fair on the LO's :(

I love Halloween, we have carved 4 pumpkins, one of which is outside, got a huge bowl of sweets and we have had no-one round. So I am eating them all myself. Wish someone would come round :(

OMG how rude....im giving out funsize malteasers and fun size cadbury bars and im amazed but EVERY child who has been here has been very polite with "thankyou very much - have a nice night" i have not had one unpolite child so ar :)

on my way  i love halloween too!! going to watch hocus pocus soon! :)

We didnt have a single knock last year and hubby and I had to eat all the sweets, still have loads left over so guess that will be happening again...oh what a pity

Hardly any kids came this year but that's ok cos I've been eyeing up the sweeties all night.....

Last year we had a group of teenagers come to the door and when dd offered them sweets they said ' we don't like them can we have money instead?' I can't believe the cheek of them!

had a knock at the door, got all excited and it was the milkman - he said trick or treat. cost me £14!!!! :rotfl:

God, that is rude! We won't get them here - if we did I'd tell them to bugger off. My Mum never let us go trick or treating when we were younger. She said it's a form of begging. I think it's good fun for kids, and should only be for kids accompanied by adults. They should be grateful for what they are given. I'll be taking Ella when she is older, but she will be taught to say please and thank you and to not expect too much. One small lolly is sufficiant IMO! Snuggle, you were being really generous!

we've had loads and they've all been really polite. I keep givin the little cute kids extra sweets

We used to get a plastic pumpkin and fill it with sweets. But we don't even answer the door now. They put no effort in to dressing up these days, we usually just get a bunch of hoodies shouting "Penny for Hallow'een!"

Bah humbug

I dont take my son out, never have, i think its contradicting stranger danger then knocking on a strangers door asking for sweets, plus I wouldnt like the thought of him eating some manky sweets that might have been in someones drawer for a year :puke:

I've got my lights off too & just some candles & a little lamp on in the living room, they can't see that from the door anyway!
Only had one knock on the door so far and obviously we didn't open it so they must have scarpered! Don't really want people knocking this time of night though coz Amber has gone off to sleep & the front door is directly below her bedroom! I do feel a bit of a meanie though!!

We dont get Trick or Treaters round by me, but we have just been to my mums and she gets loads of them. I answered the door a couple of times and some of the outfits they are wearing are so ace.
My mum has a huge bowl of sweeties and just offers that. I must say they have been ever so polite and only been going to take one so we keep having to say take a handful  bless um.

I can't wait till next year as Seren will be old enough to go trick or treating - I loved it when I was a kid

When I was a kid we used to help my Mum make our outfits every year and that was part of the fun and she would come round with us to make sure we behaved at everyones doors :D
