I have a guy from British Gas coming to service the boiler today. That's fine. It's buggered and needs doing.
The only thing is why can they not give you a rough time of their arrival? Either morning or afternoon would suffice! I've been sat in all day, i have shed loads of housework to do. I've done half of it but i really need to hoover. Our door bell doesn't work so i can't hoover up yet as i won't hear them knock! I could've done it this morning, but sods law they'd have appeared!

Anyway, the bathroom is almost spotless so i feel better. We have company this weekend (Someone i have never met) and am determined to make a good impression!

I used to work for British Gas and we used to give 2 hour time slots but maybe thats changed now  (it was about 10 years ago I worked for them). If you want to hoover, leave a note on front door saying that you may not hear door so can they bang on your window

I just got a letter saying they're coming today. No times or anything. I need to hoover upstairs, which is typical.

I sympathise hun
British Gas are annoying me today also
We only use gas in the colder months as it powers our central heating. Everything else is by electricity. So basically havent used any Gas since april.
Well topped up my meter today and i have debt on there of over £40 because they charge a discounted rate for gas as long as you constantly use it if not then they charge a higher rate so basically we were qualifying for the dicounted rate in winter but because we havent used it for months they are now charging back at a higher rate :wall:
So currently everytime i top up my meter it will take 70% of my debt leaving me with little gas until i pay it all off which currently i cant afford £40 then what i want for gas.
So looks as though i will be wrapping up in an extra layer of clothes and only having the heating on when nessesary.

Sorry Lisa took over with a rant of my own

We get charged a fortune for not using it. We turned the gas off in order to fit the new cooker (we got an electric one) but we can't turn it back on, so have no hot water or central heating. It was ok up til now but it's getting a bit chilly, and i want a bath instead of a shower. I just hope the show up!

He's here, and the biggest grump! So not nice, and asking me weird questions and being picky on what we've done! I have no idea! OH has dealt with it all!

My hubby works for E.on and they also charge a 'standing rate' during summer months so even though you're not using it you will still find your meter has a charge on when you go back to it in the winter :shakehead:

He nearly flipped when I fell in love with the house we're renting now because on the inital inspection I didn't check if it was on a meter  He point blank refuses to move into any house with gas or electric meters.

Worst thing is they charge you for removing them as well

Most of the companies are then same :bored:

I'm really upset as it's not fixable! The boiler was put in when the house was built back in the 70's! He hasn't seen one like ours for a long time, and the woman he spoke to on the phone hadn't even heard of it! He couldn't get it going for me so now i need a new boiler!!! He was a right arse. Like when we turned off the boiler at the meter, he was a twat about that, then when he couldn't fix it he went back and turned it off at the meter! Now we need to wait for an appointment for someone else to come out and give me my options! Thankfully it hasn't cost us anything so far and won't when we see the next guy. Until we commit we don't pay a penny! Strange in this day and age! Lol
