We found out on my daughters 10th birthday we were expecting, she was thrilled and bought the babies very first thing with her birthday money, 3 white vests :rotfl:
Apart from that i have set up a nursery plan at mothercare and ordered a travel system as my mate works there and got me a dammed good deal in the jan sales and also with her staff discount
Apart from that i'm not buying anything else till i know the sex :moon:

Wend,

I have a HUGE confession....

I have EVERYTHING apart from pink/blue clothing, I even have the basic white vests etc! I really do have everything I can get (nursery furniture, pram, car seat, changing station, toy chest, cot, cot mobile etc...really I do mean EVERYTHING) apart from gender pink/blue bits I'll be out getting in March!!

So don't feel bad about a dozen bits wait untill you fill a whole room with it all stacked up - no wonder DH has decided to make a start on the nursery he'll want the other room back no doubt!!

My OH has gone mad with buying baby stuff. We've got sleep suits, vests, bottle steriliser with bottles, shawl, bouncy chair, play nest, bibs, mittens, hats, booties the list goes on! I told him to slow down but oh no dont listen to the mother!

I haven't got anything, too heartbreaking if something goes wrong to see all your hopes piled up in a corner :(

I think its good to think postive and buy stuff now. I bought a lot of stuff but i still have it for when i get pg again. Some people think i am mad for keeping it all but i think throwing it out etc is even worse. Goto think positive and enjoy being pg.

I couldn't wait to buy stuff, was even shopping while TTC!!!!!
Been TTC since our wedding (Feb 2006) so I've had almost a whole year of shopping for baby!! Roll on March, mummy can't wait to go again this time for pink/blue!!

it's hard to keep being positive after 3 losses. I get excited but would be a wreck if I had to deal with baby stuff after miscarring. I no doubt will feel better after 12 wk scan or even 9 weeks never got there yet

I still have most of the baby stuff from Riley, strangely we decided another baby just wasn't going to happen so we took it all to a car boot sale one sunday last summer and it rained the whole day so we ended up bringing it all back home ..... how weird is that ??

Loads of friends are giving us their babies bits and pieces also but not until we get past 16 weeks or so.

i haven't brought anothing yet sort of don't want to tempt fate but my mum has already got me loads! she works in sainsburys and when things get reducuced she buys them. i haven't told her that i'm pregnant yet shes been buying this stuff for the last 18 months  she did keep it a secret but i looked in the cuboard and asked who all the baby things were for and she said for me nothing like forward planing!!! :)

i didnt want to buy stuff cus of tempting fate, but i like the idea that by buying stuff it keeps you positive never thought of it like that before!! goin av a look in the sales on my dinner break now lol!! xxxxx

We'll all have our babies by christmas so wouldn't it be a good idea to start buying christmas presents for our friends, family etc while the sales are on saving us from trawling round the shops with our newborns and big ole' prams? Just a thought :D

It's a great idea really....I usually just order online though. Saves so much bother and I hate the christmas shopping crowds, £4 postage from a store is far better than petrol, parking and stress of the malls!!

Besides I'm kinda cheating this year and getting everyone gift vouchers I think!

I couldn't resist I bought a newborn top that say's I love mummy and some little tiny white fluffy trousers. 8)

I have two "I love Mummy" tops and then decided it was only fair to buy two "I love Daddy" tops also  I think were in for having rather spoiled little bundles!!

I bought a pack of three baby grows last week, one say's I love mummy, one say's I love Daddy and the other one just has mummy and daddy all over it. Most of the newborn stuff I see still looks to big for a newborn.

Was that a Mothercare packet? I try to look at the sizes, some newborns say 5lbs - 9lbs, other newborns say 0-10lbs (which seems daft to me!) some of them are up to 8lbs etc, it's crazy....mind you when I have a wardrobe consiting of 12's, 14's and 16's it's hardly surprising baby clothes are the same way!!

All we've bought is a doppler - we've tried using it a couple of times but its too early yet although on Saturday evening we heard what we thought was the buba heartbeat it was really really fast and only lasted for a few seconds couldn't find it again just kept finding my pulse which was much slower.

We have our scan on Thursday so if all is well we will poss go and buy one baby thing at the weekend but don't know yet.
