Since my sweep on Thursday ive been losing lots of plug, this continued yesterday and since about 7pm last night ive had lower backache very irregularly which coincides with my stomach tightening, like a braxton hick contraction except with pain. Ive woke up this morning and this is still happening, roughly every 20 minutes and no more intense than last night.

I'm 5 days overdue now, does this sound like slow labour or maybe the start of labour? Not sure if I should go a walk or something to see if it makes a difference x

Yes definitely sounds like early labour to me, whatever you do do not have a bath until things become regular as it can make things stop. I wouldn't do too much as you will need your rest if it turns into full on labour. Have you got a birthing ball? I would just have a little go on that or maybe do a little bit of housework, worked for me lol. Best of luck Hun x

Thanks H16, I really hope it is early labour. Does the same apply to a shower as a bath? I was just about to wash my hair and have a quick shave just incase it is labour lol. After that I'll bounce on my ball for a bit x

I'm sure a quick shower would be fine I think xx

Sounds like it could be early labour - I had this for about a week, no amount of walking/bouncing made any difference - I went 11 days over lol!!
Just try & relax xx

Sounds like slow labour.

The warm water kicked things off for me. Everyone is diff.

Good luck xx

Sounds promising. When i was induced i got into the bath too early and it stopped my labour. But like post above said.. everyones different. I dont think a quick shower could do any harm - just dont take my word for it lol. Good luck, i hope it leads to something soon x

Disappointingly since I posted this ive had pretty much nothing :( x

Back pain has started again. We've been recording and so far between pains there's been anything from 3 minutes to 38 minutes, the long one only happened once. No pain really at the front. Really not sure what to think! X

Oh things crossed things ramp up for you overnight lovely xxxx

Hope things move in the right direction for you Hun x

Well rainbow, anymore progress? Hope things have stamped up for you x

Still getting the back pain on and off. No real pattern. They have got slightly sorer Id say but I'm not even sure these are contractions, I'm feeling nothing at the front x

Pretty sure this is labour. They're coming now every 5-10 mins and getting more intense. I dunno if baby is back to back and maybe that's why im feeling the pain in my back. At what point do you contact the hospital? It's about a 40 minute drive and im scared to go to bed incase I leave it too late to get there x

Ooo exciting rainbow, I'd give them a call now and let them know how often and just mention how far away you are and see what they advise x

Ohhhh exciting!! I would wait until they are solidly every 4-5 minutes and getting unbearable. The hospital won't want to see you until you're having 3 in 10 minutes, lasting 1 minute. Good luck!!! X

Oooohh this is so exciting rainbow! Best of luck!

I felt all of my contractions in my back and nothing at all in the front, it's normal apparently, some ladies just feel them differently.
I was told not to go into hospital until I was having 3 intense contractions in 10 mins, but call them and ask, if I had a 40min drive id want to be over cautious!

Best of luck!! X

Thanks ladies. I phoned and she pretty much said the same as all of you. Roughly 3-5 contractions in 10 minutes lasting 1 minute each. I'm gonna try and get some sleep and see what happens from there x

So excited for you hun! Eeeeek! Good luck! :D

They advise to call when either your waters break/you get contractions every 4-5 mins or 3 contractions in 10 mins but as others have said you may want to call earlier for advise due to a 40 min journey. Looking forward to updates! :D xx
