I LOVE mine...it has been a real help since we had Ruby...

I cook spag bol sauce, chilli etc in it but our fav is chicken stew, I cook it one a week, and we have it with thick crusy bread and butter. Yum yum....

Any recipes from anyone else who uses one?

xx

I adore ours, we use it all the time!!

My latest trick is to put a whole chicken in with just a spot of stock in the bottom and leave it all day. You get a really soft bird and lots of chicken stock to freeze for future recipes.

Dauphinoise potatoes are good as well. Just sliced spuds, chicken stock, cream and some cubed bacon if you want to make it more interesting.

Our failsafe is beef stew. Braising steak, veg and some pearl barley, mmmmmm :D

Hey Zoe,

I can't get the hang of my slow cooker, but I got it from a car boot sale and think it might be duff - I only tried it once to make chilli and it ended up like slop, 10 hours later. Must try again sometime.

Anyway - I use the moneysavingexpert website for slow cooker and other recipes - its really good - here's the link.

Happy cooking! Take some pics for laetitia's thread!

I got one for xmas and have used it once, not really sure if its any different to a big pan to be honest :|

Please could some one post some recipes for a slow cooker? My mum bought me one for Christmas last year and I haven't used it yet  and i'm really not sure what or how to cook with it.

My Mum bought us one a couple of years ago and we have only used it once  I think I will make it my new years resolution to use my slow cooker more :D

Its great because you can bung the ingredients in the slowcooker in the morning before work and your tea is ready and waiting by the time you get home :D

I love mine - make casseroles in it. We have got a slow cooker cook book but I have never used it. Just bung in a load of meat, veg etc and make stews. My cook book has got pudding recipes in the back but I've never made a pudding in it.
Have also done a lamb joint in it - beautiful!!! Some meats tend to get a bit dried out in it though like turkey.

I use my all the time.

I do beef stews etc, but sausage casserole is good. I don't tend to follow recipes, but it goes something like this...

Pan fry some sausages and onion (or leek) for a few minutes to brown. Throw in slow cooker, add misc veg inc spuds, stock cube, herbs and a large tin of baked beans. Cook for several hours.

Bloomin' lovely!
