Ladies, I am looking to buy a sling, so hoping to get some recommendations :)

I am after something easy to put on and not too hippy-like.

Ideally a sling that I can wear at home as well as outside.

Thank you :)

I love the NCT close caboo, google it for some reason it won't let me paste the link.

So comfy. It takes a couple of goes to put it on but I can do it really quick now. Baby feels really secure and it means you get 2 free hands.

Thanks Jessie.

Is it one of these?

where are you from? do you have a local sling group where you are? if not go look up sheffield slings on facebook, its fab for baby carriers and very popular for advise om slinging :) how old is your bubs? x

Thanks very much :) madam googoo is certainly a crazy designer! I am after something a little bit more subtle...

There is a sling library where I live. I am not sure whether I can make the next meet, so am doing a bit of research myself.

Liberty slings is a good start, easy to put on can do different ties for different carries(bf in it etc) and its plain colours and cheap for a first one :)

Bigbee yes that's the one, that one also goes in to different positions so you can bf in it though I'm not that adventurous and just use it in the standard position as that's all I know lol.

I have a sa-be wrap style sling and I love it. I love the material baby carriers rather than the ones with straps and buckles.

I've got a Palm and pond mei tai. It's really easy to put on, comfortable to wear and comes in loads of different designs!

Pretty sure everyone is aware of benefits, but I've just found this so thought I'd share :)

I used a Baby Bjorn one for my youngest. Not overly fiddly to put on but I don't think they are the easiest things to negotiate. He was quiet a big baby and although he hadn't outgrown the carrier, I had to stop using it because it was breaking my back (little beefcake :))

I bought a Manduca when my son was 3 months old. I'm very happy witb it! It's very easy to put on, doesn't hurt my back or shoulders at all even though I already have back pain from lifting the baby all the time. I definitely recommend it, esp. if your baby is older than 3-4 months. It has an extendable back, which I keep folded indoors so my LO can move his head and look around more freely, and I extend it when we are outside so he gets more support and safety. Also has a hood and you can cross the straps at your back.

I wouldn't use this with a newborn though, even though it does have a newborn insert. There are much better slings for newborns, like the Caboo mentioned above. I also recommend going to a shop where they know a little bit about baby carrying and you can try on different carriers with your baby in them just to see what you and your LO like best.

I hired a Caboo DX from the local sling library. Takes getting used to! Not sure I like the two piece design. Might hire a sling made out of material next week... Moby or hana or something.

Saw a guy with a connecta that looked really good, so am planning to try one on at the next sling meet.

I've got connecta now after not getting to grips with a close caboo (nct). I'm loving it although still finding it fiddly to get on, wouldn't like to do it in public yet haha!

I bought a liberty brand new off ebay for 20 pound. Was dead simple to put on and lily loves it. I might go to my sling library to hire some different ones to try I think xxx

Recommend a Tula as well as a wrap! They have padded straps which is good as they grow and get heavier etc

I find that my back starts hurting after a while with this caboo!
Like idea of a wrap but don't think it'll be supportive enough, actually.
I'll google Tula...
