I've bitten the bullet ,instead of the biscuit, and started my SW plan again today.

Mmmmmm. I had forgotten how much I enjoy a green day "breakfast"-had a brunch of

Baked beans
Grilled tomatoes
Fried potatoes (previously baked, cut into slices, covered in Fry light and in the pan they go!)
Quorn Cumberland sausages
Mushrooms -in a pan with fry light and pepper...yuuuuum
3 fried eggs (in fry light) I have now perfected the cooking of these as I have a special little pan...mmmmmm

I'm so stuffed it's unbelievable.

It's a big quorn chilli (already in the freezer) with either rice or potato wedges tonight for tea.

What you having, ladies?! :good:

Atkins so bacon & eggs for me :D I've been abit of a loose woman lately with Xmas and the carbs got me temporaily but as of Monday I'm back to a mean lean machine :gun:

thats a diet breakfast??? Thats amazing!

Im an atkins fan too, the only way I get results, love the food too. Im finding it a strugle to remember to add carbs to meals now Im pregnant.

Wow, sounds amazing!

I'm on a diet too. Lost 5lbs this week :yay: I'm not following a 'diet', just healthy eating and exercise.

You're pregnant, you have the best excuse to eat lovely food ;)

wow well done! Very impressed! :yay:

Thanks :)

I'm hoping for about a 2lb loss a week from now, as I'm sure most of that was water weight from kick starting it all.

I cannot be arsed going for a run tonight though!!

going for a run in the snow?? you wanna get yourself an exercise DVD and stay in the warm!

I need to run as I have a weekend away with the TA coming up which is important I pass. So I'm running twice a day, morning and evening(1.5/2 miles each time). I'm still not hitting the right times though, so I am getting massively demoralised when I go out. The snow doesn't help!

lol yes pregnancy is a good excuse.... lol cant wait to get back to slimming world and touch wood i havent put on any weight with preg.... so hopefully after labour ill have lost a bit :D xx

Tonks, 5lbs in a week is really good going - though I bet you don't have much on you to lose, what with all your training!

Slimming world breakfasts - thing is, it's seriously just a healthy way of eating, and not a diet at all. It's just better for you and it's not hard to stick to at all. I was quite happy sticking to it for months and months but when we started renovating our house in May, and then we ended up without a kitchen for quite a while (ladies, we did our entire house in one go...I have an excuse) it went out the window. Then Christmas came along...

But I'm back on track :good: and happy about it.

PLEASE be careful if you're doing Atkins  hope you're not doing it long-term! Not really 100% good for you but I promise not to preach. Promise!

I know for me that "diets" don't work and I can't eat like "normal" people thanks to PCOS and for being a total gannet! I am such a foodie it's silly, which is why SW works for me. Take all my fav recipes and foods, and adjust them. And Thursday night is always "treat night" - especially if I've lost weight that week  Wine and cheeeeeese

Hm. Hungry now. Must get that chilli on the go :D

yeah I know atkins isnt great healthy but Ive adapted it quite a lot over the years, for starters I dont limit the amount of salad/veg I eat. I cant imagine what Id eat otherwise! Usually I have grilled tomato and bacon for breakfast and some days with a fried egg. I'll have carrot stick etc...and guacamole for snacking and meat n 2 veg type dinner (but no potatoes) I feel so healthy on the diet too. I think its cos I cut out gluten, which I know I dont get on with. I think the strict atkins diet tells you to fill up on more fats, like cheese and fried meat. Cant remember its been that long since i read the book!

Someone once told me my diet was more like south beach than atkins but Ive never researched south beach!

I'm on a see food diet, i see food, i eat it

I've never fancied the atkins, i can' be arsed to cook lol I think i'm just gonna count calories and exercise after bubs is born xx

no fruit and a small amount of veg. Thats why doctors dont like it. I ignore that bit to be honest. I cut out the major carbs; bread, pasta, SUGAR!, potatoes, cerals etc... But in atkins there are several phases and the strictest phase where veg is restricted is only for 2 weeks then you reintroduce carbs gradually in the next few phases. A lot of people think the initial strict phase is the whole diet. I dont think any human being could survive on the limited diet for longerthan 2 weeks!

Really works for me.

As Tiny said the first 2 weeks (induction) the food is very limited but it puts you into ketosis, then gradually you add more and more carbs every week.

I'm in pre-maintenance phase, although I've put on a few lb's since then  so I have been having wholegrains like occasional brown bread and all bran. I've started having banana's again as well as they are my absolute favourite fruit.

I was a crisp a holic and even though I've slackened over Xmas I haven't went back on the crisps :D

I need to go back a bit though just to get in the hang of it again, I was doing very well before Xmas and although hadn't lost weight in a few weeks I was comfortably maintaining :)

It's not something I'd advocate when pregnant though :)
