Hey ladies hope pregnancy is treating you all well :-)
I've heard some where that your not supposed to sleep on your back as can hurt baby? What stage does that take effect from if it's true? I'm 10 + 5 but sleeping on my sides hurts my hips after so long so I end up laying on my back as I'm more comfortable but I don't want to risk hurting my baby oh is ordering me a pregnancy pillow to see if that helps me sleeping on my side xx

Hi Holli, it's more around the 16 wk mark you should stop back sleeping. It's because a vein sits under where the baby is so once heavier it could press on it and cause issue for you. That being said I've just read an article today about a study whereby back sleepers have less active babies (have a google) but again I think this is in later pg. have you tried a mattress topper or duvet doubled up for your hips?

Hey thanks for your reply, no I haven't tried those didn't even think of doing that, might give those a try while waiting for this pillow to arrive. I've always slept on my left side or my tummy but just laying on my sides now really throbs and I get pins and needles if I don't move and if I stay on my right side too long I start wanting to be sick ( I know from working in care shouldn't really lay on right side as that puts pressure on stomachs which forms the acid ect) xx

Indeed Holli, we can't really win right!? I'm a tummy sleeper so really struggle. I have spd so have same hip issues as you. Be sure to have a pillow between your knees too while you're waiting for your proper pillow. Hope you get some relief soon x

It hurts to sleep on my back! My tummy just starts feeling really squashed and pressing down super heavy. Pregnancy pillows help loads. I usually sleep with a pillow between my legs too
